I had my 25 week midwife appointment yesterday and the midwife said she was a little concerned about the size of my bump, and that my baby was measuring in the 98th percentile 😬😬
Is this something I should be worrying about? I understand the link between a bigger baby and gestational diabetes, but are there other things I should be concerned about? I was a little caught off guard by the fact that midwife was concerned, especially as my last pregnancy was so smooth and easy.
She also mentioned my baby is in breech, but I still have plenty of time for the baby to turn around, so I'm less worried about this-or am I just being a bit naive?

Hey my baby was measuring big for the whole of my pregnancy near enough and she was 6lbs so don’t take it to heart x

With my last pregnancy and this one the babies were measuring big, had gestational diabetes tests and all came back normal. And actually my daughter was born a perfectly normal size. They often get it wrong cause they’re just guessing. I wouldn’t be concerned to be honest they might just send you for a GTT or a growth scan x

I measured around 90th percentile my last pregnancy and my baby was 6lbs 12oz when born. It’s not very accurate so I wouldn’t worry.

It’s just an estimate. Belly could also be big because you have w lots of fluid. I had a friend who’s belly was huge but her baby came out 6lbs. But you had to push down about an inch to even feel her baby, whereas mine was right under the skin I didn’t have excess fluid. Baby’s weight is not guaranteed through measurements/scans until they are born and put on the scale- anything in utero are all estimates.

My estimates were off, even my growth scan. He was 8lbs when they said 97th centile- so try not to worry!
Thank you. I'm trying not to stress too much at this point, just getting concerned about maybe needing a C-section as I had such a good natural birthing experience with my daughter. She was 8lb 4oz so hoping this baby (also a girl) is similar! My husband was over 10lb at birth (and his brother was 6lb but 6 weeks prem) so not sure if this baby is taking on his giant genes! Im also trying to do the maths of being out of action with C-section recovery with a newborn and a clingy 21 month old and getting stressed about that.
I have a glucose test booked in as I have family history of diabetes, but thankfully didn't develop GD in my last pregnancy so fingers crossed for this one too 🤞🏼
Are growth scans not routinely offered? I had one with my last pregnancy at around 34 weeks but just assumed it was routine 🙈
So this a little bit of a rant but also want to see what others think. I had a C-section because I was induced (had gestational doctor told me I basically had no option of induction). The induction was super stressful lasted almost 3 whole days. I was 6cm dilated by day 1 lasted 2 days with no progression. Baby was never in distress but because they broke my water and I didn’t want to stay in the hospital for longer I ended up in a C-section. I got told by the surgeon I could try for a natural delivery next pregnancy and to wait a year to get pregnant again. Fast forward to now I’m 19 weeks pregnant different hospital and OB. At my initial appointment OB said she was fine with me trying for a VBAC. I go into my appointment today and ask about my delivery because I am trying to get a doula covered for the birth just to get told the hospital doesn’t allow VBACS and so it’s not an option. I wish they would have told me then and not halfway through my pregnancy now I’m extremely stressed because I feel like the choice is being taken away from me just like my last pregnancy. I’m stuck trying to find a different OB mid pregnancy that will take my insurance or going into a birthing house that only does unmedicated labor which I don’t even know if I can because of my prior C-section. I’m so frustrated and angry at this heath care system that does not care about mothers everything is done to save their asses and fuck what happens to the patient. Sorry for long post just needed to get it out.

Hi all! Is there any items you’d reccomended for the hospital bag for someone having a C-Section? Any tips for a first time mum would be amazing. Thank you! 💖

Me and my Bf are regularly in stupid arguments and he stays away for a few days then comes back. I’ve been thinking to not put his surname on baby’s name once baby is born.
What are your thoughts on this??
Does anyone else’s children only have (mums) surname.
Are there any implications in doing this??

Has anyone here who already had a history of multiple laparoscopies for PCOS/Endo/Adeno gone on to have a C-Section and been ok afterwards? I have requested one but the nurse advised that with my history (6 surgeries) the recovery could be really difficult, I might end up having much more scar tissue making the C-section itself difficult, and that all my endo/adeno symptoms could get worse.
I've been searching online but there's so few people who've ever shared their experience on this.
I had my heart set on a c-section because I've got a fear of labour/birth and really bad anxiety/trauma. Now I'm wondering if I'll be making my long term physical health worth for the sake of my mental health 😞

What did you do? Please only included pre planned trips out of the house. For example, a walk or a trip to the shop.
I am 1 week post emergency c section and not sure when to get out and about. Feeling okay but I don’t want to overdo it too soon.
Thank you!
