Hey ladies, I tried breastfeeding but being a first time mum I was so worried about my baby not getting enough and being accused of neglect, that I switched to bottle feeding. Since I made the decision I have been racked with guilt, shame and regret and now I'm wanting to go back to breastfeeding. Has anyone got any tips to get my milk going again?

Breast milk is produced in response to the stimulation caused by the baby’s sucking. You just need to put your baby to the breast as often as you can, especially at night (if they wake up)! And gradually reduce the bottles so the baby doesn’t fill up on formula instead.

I combi fed for a while as I struggled at the beginning and could never get my milk supply back up so it will have be a challenge but just choose breast as often as you can and pump in-between to try and get your supply back up. If you can’t get it back up then even just a little bit of breast milk is amazing for your little one so please don’t be too harsh on yourself!

Postpartum nurse here, your feeding plan will have to look like this: breastfeed, then bottle feed then pump for 15 mins each breast (if you have a double pump saves you some time). So you’ll have to pump after every feed and during the night as well. Then you can lessen the amount of bottles. How many weeks postpartum are you? How is baby latching?
I would also suggest maybe a lactation consultant to help with breastfeeding and bring your milk supply up. It’s a lot of work but if you want it, you can do it.

Even if baby refuses just try to get the baby on to the breast. If after 10 mins of try and the baby refuses to latch then move on to the bottle because after 10 mins baby is just wasting energy. The drops in the mouth is a great idea. Also when you meet with a lactation consultant see if it’s worth exploring a lactation device. It’s basically a long thin straw, on end goes in the bottle and the other end gets taped close to your nipple so when baby latches. The baby is stimulating your breast and getting your milk and formula at the same time.
Also may I ask why you don’t want to combofeed? And the baby doesn’t take your breast at all?
I have thought about a lactation device and been looking at the straw one but I must admit I'm quite overwhelmed with the information and I feel like I'm running out of time. I'd like to be able to strengthen my bond with him as, I feel like we haven't got a strong bond and really regret not breastfeeding. Although I have noticed recently that he'll willingly try to latch on through my shirt but when given the naked breast he'll barely entertain the idea 🤦🏻♀️🤣
So me and my mum were just in the playground with my 21 month old. We made our way to a little playhouse and there was another little boy who seemed the same age, maybe a little older with his dad and older brother nearby.
I looked at the dad and he seemed so laid back he might aswell of been laid in the bushes. One earphone in, kind of looked distant.
I encourage my son into this playhouse, holding his hand. The little boy comes over and basically barges his way in and stands in the way so my son couldn’t come in. I’m obviously still encouraging him to go in and trying to chat to this little boy about how nice the playhouse is.
He swipes some leaves and sticks off a little table inside which makes my son jump so he steps back and this little boy leaves. He then follows us to the slide and he’s using his body to basically block my son. Kicking his leg so he can’t get on. The slide was massive and attached to a massive climbing frame. There was plenty of space for several kids.
It got to the point where we had to explain to this little boy that his behaviour isn’t very nice and to stop. The dad was on his phone still with an earphone in.
Now I try my hardest, even more so now I’m a mum to not judge and fully understand kids are kids and sharing, social skills ect are being learnt but I feel like those kids were in charge of their dad, not the other way around. At what point do you stop being so understanding and throat punch the dad 🤷🏽♀️

Baby is currently 4 weeks old…I love her to bits but I DREAD her wake windows, as horrible as that sounds😖
She’s rarely content or happy when she’s awake. If she’s awake she’s crying or screaming. I actually get scared for when she might wake up because she gets herself in such a state.
Has anyone else felt this way? Or am I just an awful mum lol.
Im hoping this gets better once baby is a bit older & can interact more with things/play/laugh etc

I had my first ultrasound and I found out my due date is May 11 and my daughter’s birthday is May 9th. I cried for about 15min straight lbvs I was already feeling guilty then I find this out on top of that I have had ZERO energy. I haven’t been wanting to play with my daughter and I feel like a shitty mom. My husband has been stepping up a lot and playing with her but now she seems to have gotten so much closer to him 😭😭😭😭 She’s like all
About her dad now and I feel heartbroken 😭

Does anyone else absolutely hate the newborn stage? So many of my friends love to borrow him for "newborn snuggles" or whatever but I just can't bring myself to care and just leave him to sleep in his crib as much as possible. I just feel so disconnected from my baby... and in hindsight, I had this with my first 2 as well - I keep them alive but wouldn't say I truly bond with them until 6 months+...
Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I can't openly talk about it with friends/family without serious judgement though I finally admitted it to my husband last night - I don't think I ever admitted it (even to myself) with my first 2. Is something wrong with me?

Baby’s 5 days old and will not sleep in the next to me no matter what we try. I’ve tried rocking it, hot water bottle to warm it, swaddled him, sleeping bag and sleepyhead (controversial I know).
Any suggestions, just want some hours sleep🥲
