Hate the newborn stage

Does anyone else absolutely hate the newborn stage? So many of my friends love to borrow him for "newborn snuggles" or whatever but I just can't bring myself to care and just leave him to sleep in his crib as much as possible. I just feel so disconnected from my baby... and in hindsight, I had this with my first 2 as well - I keep them alive but wouldn't say I truly bond with them until 6 months+...

Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I can't openly talk about it with friends/family without serious judgement though I finally admitted it to my husband last night - I don't think I ever admitted it (even to myself) with my first 2. Is something wrong with me?

You should talk to your doctor about it. Maybe see a therapist too. I felt this disconnect with my first also and i was diagnosed with ppd & ppa and i immediately got a therapist.

Same!! My husband and I both said we struggled during the newborn phase. Yeah they are cute, but it was HARD! I felt i was in survival mode until about 5/6 months.

I think everyone has their favorite stage. Some would say newborn is the best and some even prefer toddler stage. You are still human. Still normal in thinking. Don't be down on yourself. Just try to at least sneak in a kiss or song or two ...6 months will be here before ya know it!

The newborn stage is rough. It could be PPD or just a preference for older kids being more fun for you. While I liked the newborn stage, my very active 18 month old is so much more my jam! He still really needs me but sleeps a lot better and is able to do so much more fun stuff. Enjoy having friends who can help share the snuggle time and even try to get some mom time when they visit.

Rant about dad in playground incoming!!!!!

So me and my mum were just in the playground with my 21 month old. We made our way to a little playhouse and there was another little boy who seemed the same age, maybe a little older with his dad and older brother nearby.

I looked at the dad and he seemed so laid back he might aswell of been laid in the bushes. One earphone in, kind of looked distant.

I encourage my son into this playhouse, holding his hand. The little boy comes over and basically barges his way in and stands in the way so my son couldn’t come in. I’m obviously still encouraging him to go in and trying to chat to this little boy about how nice the playhouse is.

He swipes some leaves and sticks off a little table inside which makes my son jump so he steps back and this little boy leaves. He then follows us to the slide and he’s using his body to basically block my son. Kicking his leg so he can’t get on. The slide was massive and attached to a massive climbing frame. There was plenty of space for several kids.

It got to the point where we had to explain to this little boy that his behaviour isn’t very nice and to stop. The dad was on his phone still with an earphone in.

Now I try my hardest, even more so now I’m a mum to not judge and fully understand kids are kids and sharing, social skills ect are being learnt but I feel like those kids were in charge of their dad, not the other way around. At what point do you stop being so understanding and throat punch the dad 🤷🏽‍♀️

Is it normal to feel this way?

Baby is currently 4 weeks old…I love her to bits but I DREAD her wake windows, as horrible as that sounds😖
She’s rarely content or happy when she’s awake. If she’s awake she’s crying or screaming. I actually get scared for when she might wake up because she gets herself in such a state.
Has anyone else felt this way? Or am I just an awful mum lol.

Im hoping this gets better once baby is a bit older & can interact more with things/play/laugh etc

Breastfed to bottle back to breast

Hey ladies, I tried breastfeeding but being a first time mum I was so worried about my baby not getting enough and being accused of neglect, that I switched to bottle feeding. Since I made the decision I have been racked with guilt, shame and regret and now I'm wanting to go back to breastfeeding. Has anyone got any tips to get my milk going again?

Guilt

I had my first ultrasound and I found out my due date is May 11 and my daughter’s birthday is May 9th. I cried for about 15min straight lbvs I was already feeling guilty then I find this out on top of that I have had ZERO energy. I haven’t been wanting to play with my daughter and I feel like a shitty mom. My husband has been stepping up a lot and playing with her but now she seems to have gotten so much closer to him 😭😭😭😭 She’s like all
About her dad now and I feel heartbroken 😭

I know it’s early days…

Baby’s 5 days old and will not sleep in the next to me no matter what we try. I’ve tried rocking it, hot water bottle to warm it, swaddled him, sleeping bag and sleepyhead (controversial I know).
Any suggestions, just want some hours sleep🥲
