My partner leaves early in the morning stating he has to sort a few things out but never tells me what he's doing. I'm left 7 months pregnant to look after our 9 month old son every day for hours and when I send him a message I don't get a reply for hours. I don't know what to do or how to handle this as when I bring it up and tell him its unfair that he gets to go off and do what he wants and I'm left to handle everything alone. He says he's tired and unwell so when he comes back he either wants to sleep or go on his playstation as he needs a break. When I bring up I don't get a break ever he turns it ll around. I don't know the point of this but it's just making me feel a certain way and if I speak then he says I'm wanting an argument or he just leaves and I don't see him for sometimes days.

Whats the point of maintaining the relationship?

Get up and leave earlier than him and leave him with the baby. He'll quickly see what being tired is all about. Most men want the daddy title without the actual responsibility! So sorry to hear this.

Just work on keeping yourself sane. This is such a vulnerable time for you and your babies need you in the best headspace… he sounds like he’s struggling to manage himself and as unfortunate it is you don’t have that same luxury

I have a similar situation. My daughter is 1 and im due December with our son.
My partner works away all week, Sunday evening to Saturday morning.
I have no help with my daughter through the week and he goes days without even making a video call to see her claiming hes tired or poorly .
When he is home he lays on the sofa and " watches her play " he will nap with her but she's now coming to me for that now not him more and more.
He will change a nappy now and then.
He has started disappearing into the garage on a Saturday all day i mean 8 am till 10 am Sunday and last weekend 5pm till 2 am . Sunday he sat at the dining table with her in her highchair and while she was shouting dada and whining he was looking through social media . I called him out for ignoring her and said while away for work you could scroll as much as you like so whats so important right now . All i got was "what I do on my phone while Im away has nothing to do with you" and oh i cant even go on my phone now .
Would your nursery bill be adjusted to a slightly lower price if you made the nursery aware of your child having a day off for a holiday?

So unfortunately I was helping my mother in law with her phone. I saw messages between her and my husband talking shit on me. What would you do? Most he instigated but she contributed a good amount...

Curious on opinions and what others are doing. LB is 2.5, we have always loosely rescricted screen time but do rely on it sometimes. I try to stay under the 1 hour a day reccomendation but often it just a little over. For context he is low sleep needs so only sleeps 10.5hrs overnight with no nap, i am 34 weeks pregnant and solo parenting during the week with an elderly dog too. I work 3 days a week so he goes to nursery whilst i am at work. He does loads of enriching activities and we read tons of books etc. Today I had an important phonecall i had to take that took an hour so i put the TV on but the call was late
starting and then a few other things demanded my attention so he ended up watching 2 hours of TV. I feel like an awful mum but on the other hand I'm thinking but today he also : had a swimming lesson with me in the pool, had lunch in the cafe together, played in the park together, cleaned the kitchen cupboards (he asked to fo this) played in the garden (digging in the mud and riding his bike). We'll be going to do the food shop together next and after dinner will be playing together then bathtime and stories. On other days we do painting and colouring and baking and puzzles, the only time the TV is on all day is when one or both of us are poorly. Is this sort of balance really so bad for him??

I take care of our little one, does whatever required of me in terms of running the household, I work two long shift, have not had my hair washed in months, i am coming down with the flu and I look tired. Each time I am not energetic he goes I have to look at your face which is moodiness.. oh let me guess your tired (tease me and laugh). When we argue he come for my weight, mind you am breastfeeding and I have PCOS plus he is not skinny either.
I have to take this until I finish my training because I have nobody to watch take my daughter to nursery and pick her up. Stay with her until am back in the night. This is probably it for the next 18 months atleast...

I was looking forward to going out with him and he had even surprised me with and outfit (I had got him to book the event and I have been banging on about we don’t do anything nice and he doesn’t take control ever) I was so excited. He had got his mate and his wife to come too I don’t mind them they are okay. We bump into his 3rd friend at the event who I dislike due to him being a terrible influence on my husband.
But husband has drank loads but after the event wants to go out out. It’s our first night out together I’ve drove so he could drink he got to see all his friends at this even he got to sing dance and drink with them.
It was around 10 and I had said let’s go home to our baby he said he wants to go for 1 pint and asked if I’ll be okay driving home myself. I said “we are going home you’re not going out now” I get in to my car upset and he comes over opens the door and is like it’s just one drink.
I leave crying and racing away. 3 hours later he’s ended up elsewhere didn’t even see if I got home okay or if I’m just okay In general. I wasn’t trying to be controlling.
He had pre drinks at 5 and drank the whole time at the event. I wanted the rest of the night with him.
This has really affected me because we’ve been married for 2 years and all I’ve ever asked for was communication and he’s mocked that.
Am I being too much ?

My baby is 4 and a half months and is on the 15th centile. She has 2 8oz bottles a day and drains them, the rest of the day breastfed. The HV has advised I up to 9oz and if her centile doesnt increase and she drains 9oz, we may need to see GP to see about early weaning. Has anyone else done this? What food/purees did you start with?
