I posted a week ago just about having some period like cramps, every few days. I’m 37 weeks + 2, last night around 8pm I had an intense pain in my back for 1-2 minutes and could’ve cried at the pain🤣 it then vanished, went to bed and woke up 4 times through the night with what felt like period cramping all across my pelvis, this is the most and consistent I’ve had it. I haven’t lost my mucus plug, no blood, water hasn’t broken! Could this be a sign that labour is close? Or is this just what happens? Thank you 🩷

Could well be! I had similar back pain 2 days before I went into labour with my last. It was him doing his final turn and engagement 😅 but I was 41 weeks by then so it was imminent anyway. At only 37 weeks you could still have a way to go. 🙈

Hi Jess, I was exactly the same last night. 38+3, ive gad quite a lot of ‘period’ pains from as early as 26 weeks on and off which I had checked out and was told it was BH (and usually when I was more dehydrated) last night these came worse with a persistent back ache (which I’ve been lucky enough to avoid my whole pregnancy) Husband and I assumed it was early labour but nothing overnight and managed a decent nights sleep just incase. No mucus plug or waters! Thought we were there but the reality of a potential few more weeks is real 🤦🏼♀️

How exciting! Yes, this is definitely a sign that labour is close - unfortunately, only your baby and your body will determine what "close" means. So for some, it could be just a matter of hours before you're in established labour. For others, it could be a few more days/couple of weeks.
As for your mucus plug not going yet, that's not a big deal - it could go anytime and not necessarily mean baby is coming now. Mine went a couple of weeks before my labour started. And waters sometimes don't break until week into established labour or full 10cm dilation!
I'd say to keep an eye on what's happening and just make a note of timings and durations. Also get walking, bounce on a birthing ball, just to help baby move further down by gravity. Eat plenty so you have lots of energy in case labour is imminent. And finally, stay happy!! Do lots of nice stuff that makes you feel good to keep your oxytocin up and (even early) labour progressing. All the best, and keep us posted!!!
I’m now 8 weeks 3 days post partum and my baby had her 6-8 week check today but I haven’t had any follow up check like I’ve heard other people have at 6 weeks… am I supposed to make the appointment myself? I last saw my midwife at around 5 days post partum and the health visitor last came out at around 6 weeks.
I thought that I’d have my check at the same time as my baby at the doctors but they only checked her so I’m not sure what to do.

This is our only baby we'll ever have, and I want to celebrate every little thing! He just did his first big boy roll today too 🥲.

So apparently my baby boy is definitely bigger than normal and I’m short. It’s recommended I do a C Section for the health of my baby and for me as well. I’m definitely going to go through with it bc it’s safer for the both of us but I’m honestly incredibly scared. I have mad respect for mothers who went through a C Section it’s a fear of mine to be awake while I’m being cut open. Anyone have any advice to prep or in general to ease anxiety at all.

Anyone else who is plus size worried about not being able to have a normal on the belly ultrasound or if you have had your scan how did they go about it if they couldn’t do it that way?

Is a wedge pillow and shower chair absolutely necessary post c section? Well it have a major impact on help? I’m running low on all these recovery things and things for the twins but if recovery is that painful i’d like to know and i’ll spend on it anyway 😭😭
