Struggling

All I see online or from friends is that they can’t put their babies down as they are clingers and constantly want their mums,
My baby is 8 weeks and when I try and comfort him he fusses until I put him down making me feel like I’m not his safe place or he even likes me and it’s making me feel like a useless mess

Some babies are just more independent! My girl prefers to be more and is happy to be left alone just chilling in her cot, whereas my '23 boy had to be held all the time, to the extent that my husband and I were even having to take shifts sleeping because we couldn't put him down at night. My August girl will do 2.5h stretches without a single complaint, and often putting her down and just staying nearby when she's fussing calms her down better than holding her. Some babies are just happier that way. Please don't worry, you are doing amazing - and having have had both kinds of babies, trust me - having a clinger is sooo much harder!!

Exactly, some are more independent, and trust me, this is a good thing. I was clingy as a baby but my husband wasn't, just different temperaments.

Honestly my baby is the same! He loves sleeping in his cot or being in his bouncer and I’m happy about it! 😝 I’d be a lot more tired if he wasn’t xx 🩷 your baby loves you 🩷 unconditionally

My baby does the EXACT same thing. I’m convinced she hates me… I see it all online too of babies constantly wanting to be held and to be loved, whereas mine is only happy when she’s lay on her own!! ❤️

Mine is the same but perfectly happy ❤️ I feel the same as you at times wondering if she doesn’t need me, but she does. Like others say it is a big blessing but agree it makes you feel a bit redundant as a mum. 8 weeks old is still young and in the newborn stage, my friend said hers started to reach out to be picked up etc when they were just a bit older, so we’ve got this to look forward to x

Break time.

Being told I don’t need a break because he provides for me. All I asked is for some help. Something as simple as getting a two hour break. Not everyday but on days I’m really tired.

Outside of motherhood I’m a human and I find it insane that him taking breaks by going out and doing whatever he pleases it’s not a problem, me asking to get a few hours to myself is and that he is not obligated to take care of our child if he doesn’t feel like it.

I’ll let that sit here.

Is my boyfriend too traditional or selfish?

He says he gives 8 hours of his life to his job M-F and he’s tired of coming home to do things he doesn’t want to/be inconvenienced. He’s talking about watching our son while I go to the food pantry. I can’t take our son because it’s a lot for me as I’m 8 months pregnant. My son is 10 months pregnant.

He was raised in a traditional home where his mom would do everything for him and his dad would work. He never did the dishes, cooked, or did his own laundry. I know he expects the same from me. I am trying my best to give him that since I’m a SAHM but i’m not used to doing that. In my eyes we should be 50/50 or he could help out a little more.

We also have two pets that he barely takes care of. I’m stuck cleaning our cat’s litter box (even though i shouldn’t while pregnant) or else it won’t get done.

Potty training boys

Anyone have tips for boys on the potty. My Lb is 14m and I’ve been trying to get him to use the potty since about 11m, he hates it and only sat fully clothed but we’re now getting somewhere and he will sit on the toilet but he will always stand and sit on it backwards?

My first was pooping on the toilet only from 1y and I would like the same for him but his poops arent routine he just goes when he goes and he’s yet to even wee on the toilet so just looking to see if boys are any different with toilet training and if there’s any tips to give :)

Do you have any help? If so how regularly?

I'm a SAHM with a 20 month old and 9 weeks pregnant. I have no family or village. Hubby works full time so can only help on weekends. My 20 month old still doesn't sleep through so we cosleep from 1am onwards. So I'm always on duty. I've started ro burnout. I want to get some help but have no idea how or where to begin. I live in Australia and a nanny is $60 an hour which is crazy. My kid isn't vaccinated so daycare isn't an option. There is no family daycares in our state legally.

Any ideas or suggestions?
