I need the mamas that have had a c section done. I’m done having kids after this baby (I’ll have two after this one is born) my 2 year old was a vaginal birth. I’m tryna weigh out the pros and cons on having a c section. I wanna know your experiences, how long you were in the hospital for, what your recovery time was before you felt physically “normal” again like had no pain. Now I understand everybody is different with healing and pain tolerance. I just wanna get everyone’s opinion. Also if I were to have a c section would they do the tubal ligation right then and there or would I have to come back to get it done.

Hi, I had an emergency c section with my first in 2022. I was in 24 hrs post op. Was up and about 6 hours after it. And walking to my mum and dads within a week. Only took the occasional paracetamol before bed.
Had my son 2025, had an elective section was in 24 hrs. Was up and about again after 6 hrs. Didnt take any pain relief afterwards didn’t feel I needed it. I do have quite a high pain threshold though.
Again was walking along to the school with in a week.
I’m due another elective section in a few weeks time

Ive had one c section and I was in hospital 30 hours after my son was born but they were busy as it was Christmas Eve! I would have gone home within 24hours otherwise! I was up and walking for a shower after 5 hours and I was back on my feet after 2 weeks with minimal pain and then felt “physically “ normal by about 1-2 months. Still get occasional pains and I’m 40 weeks post c sections and not sure about the tubal ligation part!

I had a Cat 3 section in December. They made me get up after 6 hours, I was able to potter around in the hospital but I was in a lot of pain for weeks, wasn't allowed to drive for six weeks, couldn't stand up out of bed for a long while and honestly, I wouldn't do it again by choice. Everyone has a different experience with it, and I've never had a vaginal birth so I don't know how I would feel about that, but that's my two cents.

I'm choosing a c-section shortly here. Just chiming in to say that here in the states they offer to do the tubal tie at the same time.

My Hospital policy was 3 day minimum stay. I wasn't going to take the pain meds, but they told me to stop being strong, and it did help a little especially be ause you sneeze a lot after and that was my only real bad pain 🥲
They had rules for being physical like no driving for 6wks, no stair climbing past 4x a day for a few weeks, no laying flat, and limited walks. I took it easy bc i have other unrelated issues, but i felt most "normal" after 6months

Curious to know why you’re thinking to get one since you’ve had a vaginal before. Was there complications with the vaginal? I had a c section and a vaginal and my c section sucked. I was in pain for a very long time, recovery was long. I didn’t really feel “normal” until like 10 months pp. my vaginal was Great and I felt back to normal after like a couple months of typical healing.

I have had two csections. Emergency C-section in 2024 and attempted VBAC which ended in emergency csection 2 weeks ago. I wanted to have a VBAC due to not being able to lift my 2 year old for 4-6 weeks post operation. Two weeks into my recovery and I feel physically ok, like I could probably lift my son if I tried to (although won’t be doing as I don’t want to hinder my recovery). Just something to think about having another child at home, you will need to make sure you have enough support to be able to care for them whilst you recover.

I have 3 c sections and with the last one I've done my tubs. Its can be done if you want. Only operation will take longer.
Can't compare with natural birth as all my kids came with planned csection. Every csection was felt different. With 1st one I was in pain was not easy to move etc.. with 2nd was I felt amazing, no pain, very active and last one with tub ligation I felt soo much in pain... even painkillers was not help enough... struggled for 2 weeks. Pain go away after painkillers but 3rd and 4th hours I was in agony... very tough...
So if you decide not to have kids anymore, its can be done same time xx Good luck with your decisions.

If its planned you can have it done at the same time as giving birth for a c section. On a side note has he not considered a vasectomy? Its a much more simpler procedure then it is for you to havr your tubes tied. (Little pre warning sometimes it does fail, theyll inform you of this but not fun if they dont).
I had an emergency c section althouh no one was super rushing as it took them 7 attempts to get my spinal in. The worst pain of my life. I have experienced the drip unmedicated and that wasnt that bad. 10 hours post surgery they remembered I existed and got me out of bed. I was in for 3 days because they wouldnt let me leave till I was off of morphine. I was in pain a long time after, made me miserable. I still get random pain now nearly 2 and half years later, its more annoying then anything. If my daughter runs for a cuddle and I dont catch her in time and she facr plams my stomach ihave pain there for about 4 to 5 days after usually. Ive just learner to be quicker :'D

Hey. I was just thinking. What is considered as reduced movement? Assuming you normally feel your baby move 5 times a day. If they moved just 2 times on one day, 4 times the next, once the following day but next to 5 the day after. Is that reduced movement or irregular movement? At what point exactly do you call triage?

This is my second and am so nervous as when and where my waters might break. With my first I was induced and they broke my waters. I know it’s not always like the movies where it’s the big gush but it still makes me so nervous. What if am out, or at toddler group or nursery run or something 🥲 I would hate to be in a public place and people end up making a fuss 😣 I know am over thinking all of this but I can’t help it!

Can real labour contractions just start close together instead of being far apart and at inconsistent times to start then getting close???
I’m 37 +2 and I’ve had braxton hicks for weeks but just started having contractions about 20 minutes ago I’ve had 5 so far and haven’t timed them as of but they are a lot more intense and low down and I need to breathe through them. I’ve had no waters break idk if I’m just overthinking
