I only braved up to get baby’s (19 weeks old) 8 week jabs yesterday and all my worst fears have played out. She’s been up all night with a temperature is very unsettled and upset.. she’s already had her 4 doses of calpol in 24 hours (last doses given at 4am) I don’t know how I can wait until 1 to give her next dose .. anyone else feel instant regret ? Or have any advice

It's normal, super common, and doesn't last long. Try and chill. You can give more doses of Calpol if you need buy only after the 4 hours. If temp is under 39 just keep baby cool and topped up on Calpol. If it goes over 39 take them to the doctor (rare).
Having the vaccines and dealing with the unsettled baby and temp for a couple days is nothing compared to them catching meningitis and the horrific things that can happen as a result of that.
You did the right thing. Ride it out, it will pass xxx

I agree with Kirsty, better than your baby getting ill and all the complications and life changing impacts they could have. It should be over in a day or 2 max xx

We were told to give only 3 doses of Calpol and if her fever persisted after that, then to call the GP or 111 for afterhours to get advice.... Have you done this?

My baby also reacted badly to the 8 week jabs and I felt so awful, guilty even.
I almost talked myself into declining the 12 week jabs but I spoke to a doctor and ultimately he got the 12 week jabs on schedule and to my great surprise and relief he had no reaction at all!
It's really hard to see our happy healthy babies go under the weather but this is just the result of their immune systems working hard to build up protection against the diseases we've vaccinated them against. And if it's this hard seeing them under the weather because of the vaccines imagine how hard it would be if they actually caught whooping cough or meningitis etc. Happy to chat more as I do understand how you feel.

I think i needed to give my little one four doses but he was fine after that. And the next lot of jabs were so much better in terms of how he felt afterwards xxx

Could you try some nurofen now she is over 3 months? I remember my three year old couldn’t get his temp down when he was as a baby and we ended up taking him to a&e as calpol wasn’t touching him. He was under 3 months but based on weight they gave him nurofen and it worked so much better and brought his temp straight down.
Hope little one is feeling better soon x

We alternated calpol and ibuprofen, ibuprofen seems better at bringing my daughters fever down xx
Thank you everyone for your advice it has really helped 🙏

As they’re older now just given them some neurofen it’ll bring it right down
I’ve been really struggling with maternity leave and feeling completely detached and angry (sadly with my son). Just wanted to hear from people that got through similar, I’m starting therapy next week and my baby is 7 weeks old.

Has anyone turned their breast milk into jewellery? I’ve seen ads for stores in Canada and the US but would love to know if anyone’s used a uk jeweller and
get some recommendations.

Mums, I’m honestly at the end of my wits with the crying 😭
My little one is 8 weeks old and lately he seems to cry so much. I’m finding it really overwhelming and stressful.
I feel awful saying this, but I’m finding it really hard to enjoy motherhood at the moment because so much of the day feels like trying to settle a crying baby.
For anyone who went through a really fussy/crying phase around this age — when did it start getting better for you? I just need some hope that this phase does pass. 🤍

Hey ladies.
I am only breastfeeding my baby and I would like to go out for a longer walk/shops, but I don't feel confident breastfeeding outside. So I am seeking some advice on how I can feed my LO with breast milk only in public. Thank you.

I know it’s a very personal choice and it’s recommended to until they’re at least 6 months old but our baby can definitely sense we’re in the room and overnight especially during their light sleep, I’m convinced I’m waking them up. Have you noticed any improvement to their sleep if you have decided to sleep independently?
