Calpol

My baby has her 8 week check up and jabs on Monday and I’ve heard that you need to give babies calpol before the appointment? My doctor hasn’t said to do this and I know someone who was told to do this so not sure what the correct thing is. I know I need it for after her jabs, just not sure on before.

They advise not to do it before because it could disguise an reaction, but you can give immediately after. We had it ready at the doctors to give as soon as they were done x

I have been told both by the same dr for my 2 older kids.
I have never given them calpol before or after their jabs & they have never needed it tbh x

I was told by my health visitor to bring it with me to the Drs & give it straight afterwards x

We were advised not to give it beforehand but to give it straight after ☺️ x

My LO had his imms 2 days back
Doctor administered it at the appointment before the vaccines and told me to give it next time for the 12 weeks imms few minutes before appointment (5 mins or so)

My doctor literally told me to give calpol half an hour before 🥴 but I won’t be doing that.

My health visitor gave me the leaflet and you don’t give it before as it could mask other illness they check for before jabs, you give it as a preventative 3 doses every 4-6hrs after the jab they said it’s. To stop the fever developing in the first place

We’ve been advised either 30 mins before the appointment or shortly after the appointment by our GP and our little one is having hers on Monday afternoon xxx

PPD PTSD from birth

I’ve been really struggling with maternity leave and feeling completely detached and angry (sadly with my son). Just wanted to hear from people that got through similar, I’m starting therapy next week and my baby is 7 weeks old.

Breast milk jewellery

Has anyone turned their breast milk into jewellery? I’ve seen ads for stores in Canada and the US but would love to know if anyone’s used a uk jeweller and
get some recommendations.

Stressed with a crying baby

Mums, I’m honestly at the end of my wits with the crying 😭

My little one is 8 weeks old and lately he seems to cry so much. I’m finding it really overwhelming and stressful.

I feel awful saying this, but I’m finding it really hard to enjoy motherhood at the moment because so much of the day feels like trying to settle a crying baby.

For anyone who went through a really fussy/crying phase around this age — when did it start getting better for you? I just need some hope that this phase does pass. 🤍

Feeding out and about

Hey ladies.
I am only breastfeeding my baby and I would like to go out for a longer walk/shops, but I don't feel confident breastfeeding outside. So I am seeking some advice on how I can feed my LO with breast milk only in public. Thank you.

Are people still sleeping in the same room as their babies?

I know it’s a very personal choice and it’s recommended to until they’re at least 6 months old but our baby can definitely sense we’re in the room and overnight especially during their light sleep, I’m convinced I’m waking them up. Have you noticed any improvement to their sleep if you have decided to sleep independently?
