If it is planned, you will be asked to remove all piercings. It’s major surgery - you want to reduce any and every chance of infections. Just remove them :)

If you have one that really won't come out, my anti-tragus is like that, they will tape it up.

But I took out all my other piercings inc tounge, nose, ears and nipple.

Good luck with your section x

I kept my nose stud in. I asked the anesthetist in pre-op and he said it was fine. Didnt even tape it etc

I had all my ear piercings and my nose piercing in at my emergency CS. They just covered them with tape.

It depends on the size of your nose stud

When I had my emergency section I just had to put tape over them all, I know it’s probably different for a planned x

Everyone saying about an emergency c-section, thank you for your comments, but the clue is in the name - emergency 😅 I know they don't take your piercings out then, they don't have the time to, it's an emergency 😅

tummy problems after c section

my csection was 10 months ago and since then ive had so many problems with my stomachs, ive had constant diarrhoea and rarely have a normal stool, and i keep getting gastritis (i think) and when i get this its so painful i ended up at a&e the first time because i didnt know what it was and the pain was unbearable for me. between that and the diarrhoea which has made me have a number of accidents (embarrassing) i have found it hard to enjoy motherhood at times because its all started after her birth.
just wondering if anyone eles has had this and what they have done to help. ive got some meds from the doctors for the gastritis and got a test coming up for the constant diarrhoea but im at a lost because everything i eat seems to set one of them off.

GBS positive + water broke , but no contractions — when did you go to L&D?

My water broke around 8 AM this morning with a pretty big gush, and I’ve continued leaking some fluid since then. I’m GBS positive, but I’m barely having any contractions — maybe just a couple all day.

I’m trying to figure out whether I should head to Labor & Delivery now or stay home a little longer, rest, and wait to see if contractions start on their own. I’d really prefer not to go in too early if everything is okay.

For those of you who were GBS positive and had your water break before contractions started, how long did you stay home before going to the hospital? What did your OB/midwife recommend?

Just to add — I’m really trying to avoid being induced and give my body a chance to go into labor naturally. From what I’ve read, the actual percentage of babies who develop a GBS infection is very small, even without antibiotics. I’m obviously not trying to put my baby at risk, just trying to understand how long it’s reasonable to wait for contractions to start naturally.

Induction prep

I’m being induced at 40+4 and been told to get there at 7am, I’d love to hear how people kept themselves busy, how their day went! Any positive stories? But also realistic stories of not getting seen all day, how it went particularly if your cervix wasn’t favourable… how long it took? Also why is there lots of negativity around the oxytocin drip? Thanks!

20 week scan

It's my 20 week scan tomorrow! I will be 20+2 ☺️

Feels like it's been a long time coming. Are there any questions or anything I should be asking/looking out for?

I had a private scan which said she was a girl, and I will ask them to confirm if they can 😂

Thank you 🥰👶🏼
