Hi mamas anyone starting formula soon or has started? My LO is 5 months in the 8th and I feel breast milk doesn’t sustain her . However its also conflicting cause she gets distracted and doesn’t feed for long but then nurses like 4 times at night. Its making consider giving formula before 6 months. Anyone in the same boat or have any advice.

It’s normal for babies to be distracted feeding around this age and feed through the night x

Hey, I would just be interested to know if the night wakings are the only reason you think the milk isn't sustaining her? I only say this because the night wakings are just very normal for most babies, especially at this age and by this point your milk is regulated to your baby 🙂 I hope you find the answer and just do whatever works for you 💗 Xx

I am exactly the same !!!!! Going to the breastfeeding pro Thursday to talk about it and see the options and how she can advise me . Send me a message and i can keep you updated to what she said if you want xx

Same he’s doing 3-4 feeds a night at least sometimes 5 with a snack early evening. I really want to cut it down to just one feed. His day time feed is awful he won’t feed unless is in the dark drowsy.

My little boy was doing 2 night feeds for a while and when he hit 3.5 months he added in an extra one again, he's just dropped it this week (he's now 20 weeks). So it could be this 4 month developmental phase that is making your baby feed more overnight and it might change again soon. Mine is also super distracted during the day so I try and feed him during naps so he's getting a longer feed.

I combi feed and it works well for me. Happy to answer questions :)
I have a 10 week old baby who will only sleep when held day or night. It’s ruining my mental health.
I spend hours every day trapped under him in silence with white noise that gives me a headache because I’m so sleep deprived. I feel stiff and sore. I feel lonely, bored and frustrated. Every attempt at transfer just fails. I have tried every trick in the book short of buying a snoo. He absolutely hates the carrier. I feel like a terrible mother because I’m supposed to be enjoying the snuggles. But they feel forced. I’m trapped until he wakes up for a feed and change. Only then I have literally 5 minutes to quickly go toilet or eat something- do a small chore. I have no one who can help and take the pressure off me. Friends are too busy 😢 There is no village so there is nobody to help. Family live far and are dysfunctional af so I can’t even go to them😭😭 We co-sleep, which I hate. I feel terrified I’m going to wake up and find him passed out. I thought I’d break the cycle and never make my son feel like he was difficult to love. But 10 weeks in, I’ve already failed. He’s not choosing to give me a hard time. He’s a baby who doesn’t know how to sleep alone and needs my help, and I’m struggling to meet this need. He has reflux and possibly colic too now which is making me even more sad for him and depressed. I’m not looking for practical advice on how to get him sleeping on his own. Trust me, I have tried every practical advice i have found online so far. I’m looking to vent and for similar stories or for advice on how to cope with the isolation of this mentally, or any words of comfort.
Please I’m desperate.
There seems to be no end in sight.
I don’t know how to carry on like this.

Hi all, I have a 5 month and 3 week old! Planning to start weaning food next week however just need some advice with a couple things if anyone is able to help!
With food what is the recommendation with milk? Do we keep it the same for now?
How often do we feed her food? They say at the start it’s just trying food but when do you start giving them actual meals? And how do I know how to remove milk feeds? Or reduce?
Also formula help!! Baby is on kendamill, she takes approximately 210ml / 7oz 5 times a day.. is anyone in a similar position and how does this work in terms of upping milk or reducing feeds but higher intake? Her current plan is/
8:30 am first feed 7oz
12:30 second feed 7oz
4:30 third feed 7oz
8/8:30 fourth feed 7oz
11:30/12 fifth feed 7oz
Any advice would be AMAZING x

Cluster feeding back to back. Literally not stopping from about 9pm -5am. And it’s never a full feed, it’s always 5-6 minutes, fall asleep, try to put her down and then repeat.
I have a toddler and I’m dreading my partner going back to work because how the hell am I supposed to function on literally no sleep?!

Baby was late so is 5 days old. Baby is back to back cluster feeding between 10-1, every night.
She falls asleep on the boob, so I give it 10 minutes and then I try and transfer but she wakes back up straight away and nothing will serve her other than another feed, then the cycle goes on etc. It’s relentless!
Did anyone else have/experiencing this?
