Hey guys, I’m due on the 20th and have seen lots of people say they don’t want inductions, sweeps etc, is there any reason for this? I’d love to know different opinions as I’m so open to anything, thank you 🫶🏻

It is usually because one intervention can lead to further and further interventions, as opposed to your body just being allowed to do its thing.
Obviously there are completely valid medical reasons for intervention too, but in lots of cases women are being offered things to speed up the process which ultimately results in further intervention as the body and baby weren’t as ready as they could have been.
Sweeps are a slightly less invasive form of intervention. The first tier of you like. Some people view these differently and others don’t.

I had sweeps with both my other pregnancies, no problems. I will be asking for a sweep on Tuesday 😂

I lean toward the view that due dates are just estimates. As long as mum and baby are healthy, I think it’s often best to let nature take its course and let the baby decide when they're ready. That said, absolutely each to their own!
There are so many new medical options available now, though new doesn't necessarily mean it's the best fit for everyone.
I'm 30 but was raised by my grandma, so I think that’s why I naturally appreciate that more traditional, patient approach
Wishing you all the best with your delivery 🩷

With my first I had two sweeps which were unsuccessful as my cervix wasn’t ready and tbh it just made me feel down and upset. I luckily went into spontaneous labour the day before I was due to be induced. With my second I had no sweeps or anything as I gave birth the day before my 40 week appointment. I’ve declined a sweep this time. They aren’t successful majority of the time. Also declining to be induced if it comes to it and opting for monitoring - it’s my third so I’m more confident in my decisions but also the chances of needing intervention/csec when being induced increases which I want to avoid!
I have had friends that have had successful inductions, I’ve had friends who have had unsuccessful inductions. It really is just personal preference

I went into triage today after having reduced movements after my sweep yesterday. They have offered for me to be induced tomorrow morning. They said my waters are bulging and that i am already 4cm dilated. But not in active labour.
They said they were gonna break my waters and try the balloon. I had a previous c section before and was really hoping for a VBAC this time: does anyone have any words of wisdom? Am i making the right choice in being induced?

Had my 20 week Scan today. They couldn’t get a proper view of baby’s heart so asked us to return next week, everything else looked fine. And I also have a low lying placenta. Anyone else have this?

I’ve had one emergency c section and I was under a general anaesthetic so I don’t really know what it’s like. I also didn’t really have any issues with recovery other than lots of bleeding for way too long. I’m planning to have another one with next baby but I don’t really know what I’m in for. Can you tell me all your experiences, how did it go, good and bad! I want to have my eyes open!

37 weeks pregnant and still waiting for my date. Seems very common not to get the date until the week before the actual op but I’m getting fed up not knowing😩 Anyone else feel the same!?😬
