ER visit

Took my 4 year old last night to the Er with a ear infection. They asked her two questions “Donyou feel safe at home ? She reply no . Does any one hurt you she reply big bubba .

Okay ladies this is not true . Her and her big bubba wrestle and play fight . And I honestly don’t think she understood the first question . I’m freaking out and wondering if I will get CPS on me

Why would they ask a 4yo that? Ironically I had my 4yo son in er last night too, and they didn't ask him that.

That’s exactly what I said .

Did you ask them why they did

The only reason they would have asked that if they saw strange bruising or signs of neglect.

No bruising . And we had just got out of bed since this happened at 10pm . They didn’t talk to us after or even bother to check her if they thought their was bruising .

This kind of thing is a standard admission question for many hospital systems. 4-6 is usually when asking the patient instead of the parent becomes possible, but there will often be follow up because a kid that age may not fully understand the question. If they didn't bring anything else up/do any additional exams I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Speech

How many words does your 18mo have? We've got about 6/7 and have been told by nursery and the health visitor thats the lower end/slightly behind. She understands very well, but rarely uses the words she knows and was a late babbler.

Just wondering if anyone else had been through the same with any advice to help her speech?

Need some advice

My baby is on cow and gate and has been for the last 2 weeks. I introduced breast alongside but she is refusing to latch because of the confusion and is getting frustrated when I’m trying to feed. However I’ve now stopped (for my mental state) she’s now showing signs of being very uncomfortable and straining and isn’t pooing until over 48 hours. We have been to the doctors and they have said because she is showing signs of uncomfortableness and straining to switch formulas. However they said not to use cow and gate comfort as it sits in the stomach longer.

Does anyone have any recommendations for formula that will help her bowels?

Whining??

WHEN DOES THE WHINING STOP?!? I am so fed up with it. I’ve had a headache for the last 19 days because my son (17m) whines about EVERY. SINGLE. THING. And screams all the freaking time.

Dummies?!

Looking for some advice, my nearly 5 week old baby will suck on a dummy for around 1-2 mins then spits it out and start fussing again that he wants it, sometimes he will even wake up from a nap for it. This will continue until he falls into a deep sleep and eventually when the dummy falls out he won’t wake back up . He will also settle without a dummy so does he maybe just not want it or are the dummies too big for his mouth I’m not sure 😩 we have tried the mam newborn orthodontic ones and the tommee tippee 0-2 month (the teat on these are a lot bigger). He is also formula fed, has anyone else been through this if so all advice welcome 🙏🏻
