Car seat on aeroplane-Ryanair

Hi, we are flying to Dublin soon and will need a car seat when there. Can I check in my car seat for the hold for free, Ryanair website says max 43cm width, the Graco Slimfit is 45cm. Do they check things like that? How does it work, does it need to be boxed up or is it just handed over? First time flying with a nearly 3 year old and needing a car seat the other end.

They don’t check, have you got a bag to protect it? It’s the same as taking a pram on you drop it off to one of the staff by the plane of the stairs x

Okay thanks, no I don’t have a bag or anything. Is there something specific you’d recommend?

If it's going in the hold it doesn't need to be a certain size, that's only for if you're using it on the plane.

Has anyone else really struggled with their marriage since having a baby? ❤️

For context - my husband and I have been trying for a baby for 2 years and had 4 miscarriages before we finally got our rainbow baby a few months ago.

Since having our baby, my husband and I seem to be stuck in a cycle of arguing over things that escalate into much bigger issues than they need to. I'll feel hurt, try to explain why, he'll feel like I'm blaming him and get defensive, then I'll feel unheard and get more upset. Afterwards I end up overthinking everything and wondering how we can stop repeating the same pattern.

I've been making a real effort to work on my own mental health and make positive changes, both for myself and for our relationship. I think what's hurting me most is that I don't feel like my husband is putting the same effort into his own wellbeing. He says he wants us to stop arguing, and he does make thoughtful gestures for me, which I appreciate. But I want to feel like he's also choosing to make changes because he wants to feel better and improve our relationship too. I don't want to have to tell him exactly what to do, because then I feel like I'm still responsible for making everything happen.

His work involves shifts, so I'm alone with the baby a lot and spend far too much time in my own head thinking about our relationship. I feel like I'm constantly trying to figure out how we can get better, whereas he seems much more able to focus on the good parts of our life. Sometimes it hurts that he doesn't seem as affected by how we're doing as I am.

I'm exhausted by how much I'm thinking about it all. Every time we argue, it feels like we're no closer to getting better, and I'm finding it hard to picture us getting past this. I love him and want our marriage to work, but I feel like I'm carrying so much of the emotional effort and I don't know what else to do.

Has anyone else felt like this after having a baby? How did you stop the same arguments happening over and over? How did you stop overthinking your relationship? And if you've been through a period where things felt really difficult and you couldn't see a way forward, what actually helped you get through it?

I could really do with hearing from people who've been there and come out the other side. ❤️

Heeelp ! Baby using my nipple as a pacifier

I have been putting her down to sleep every night breastfeeding her. I feel so tired and exhausted. It takes me 1.5h at least for her to sleep and stll as soon as I leave she wakes up. She doesnt like a dummy. My nipples become sore after such a long time. If I rock her for sleep she will scream and scream until I see tears and I give up. How do I break this sleep association? Any idea?

Sleepless night

Hi everyone, I really need some advice and support because I honestly don't know what to do anymore. ❤️

I had a C-section, and my little one is now 8 weeks old. He doesn't latch, so I bottle-feed him and pump breast milk for him. I pump 8 times a day for 30 minutes each time to maintain my milk supply.

At night, my baby wakes up every 2 hours. Each time, I have to change his nappy, warm his bottle, feed him, settle him back to sleep, and then pump for the next feeding session. By the time I finish pumping, storing the milk, cleaning everything, and getting back into bed, it's almost time for him to wake up again. I'm barely getting any sleep, and it's really affecting me mentally and physically.

I was struggling so much that I asked my husband to take care of the baby between 6 am and 11 am so I could get some uninterrupted sleep. He works from home, so he looks after the baby in the mornings, and if he has meetings, my mother-in-law helps. I usually wake up around 11 or 11:30 am, pump, and start my day.

My mother-in-law has been staying with us and helping with cooking and other things for the past two months, and I genuinely appreciate everything she has done for us. She will be going back to her home next month.

However, she keeps questioning why I sleep in the mornings and says I should try to manage the baby while also getting some sleep. The reality is that I simply cannot do both when I'm this exhausted. Because of this, she has now stopped talking to me, and the situation is making me feel even worse.

My husband also tells me to try to manage with the baby, but I honestly don't know how I'm supposed to do that when I'm already struggling to cope with the lack of sleep.

I skip breakfast most days, eat lunch, and spend the rest of the day looking after my baby until 6 am the next morning. I barely get a break, except when I need to use the toilet. On top of everything, I'm trying so hard to maintain my breast milk supply because I really want to give my baby breast milk.

I understand that looking after a newborn is difficult for everyone, and I'm grateful for the help I receive. But I'm also recovering from a C-section, and I feel like people are forgetting that I need rest, too. I feel guilty for sleeping in the mornings, even though I'm only doing it because I'm completely exhausted.

Am I wrong for asking my husband to take care of the baby for those five hours so I can get some uninterrupted sleep? Is it unreasonable to need at least 4–5 hours of proper sleep when I'm pumping 8 times a day and looking after my baby?

I love my baby more than anything, and I'm trying my best to do everything I can for him. But I'm struggling, and I need some support rather than feeling guilty for needing sleep.

Has anyone else been through something similar? How did you manage pumping, night feeds, and sleep? I would really appreciate some advice because I honestly feel overwhelmed. ❤️
