What’s something (or multiple things) your mother in law has said to you that have made you cringe or left you shook?
I’ll go first, mine always says off handed remarks to me because I don’t give my son juice and I only allow sugary sweets with supervision, anyways she told me that when her boys where little, she took them off of formula and started giving them Carnation milk at 6 MONTHS old and she fed her 10 day old rice water with oatmeal because he wouldn’t sleep all night. lol
We get along and she respects my boundaries but I definitely think it’s so funny how statements like “look at them (my husband) he’s fine,” get used.

When I split up with my ex at 13 weeks pregnant and he moved in his mums, she voice noted me saying how “thrilled” and “ecstatic” he was to move back in with her and they hadn’t stopped reminiscing about all the good times 🤢

My MIL told me I focus to much on my husband, or as she put it "you are to obsessed with him thats why he will never appreciate you". She cheated on my husbands father and my husband was an accident baby from her sleeping with her best friends bf(hubby's dad). Still upsets me that she could say I love and care for my husband to much.

I got the rice water one also! And when my son was around 3 months old she wanted me to have him sleep with a pillow. I love her and we get along great but sometimes her old school thinking is so strange

We moved countries and hadn't found a church we were happy with yet, and my husband had the idea of our Pastor from our home country doing a baptism service over Skype and then my husband could do the actual baptism. My MIL said "aw what a nice idea, too bad she won't go to heaven as it won't count" I was shook that she could say that about her own granddaughter that wasn't even a year old yet..
My partner and I live together, and I’m a first-time mom to our two-month-old baby. Since the very first day I came home from the hospital after my C-section, while I was in pain and recovering, he had friends over without consulting me. I was so overwhelmed that I ended up crying in front of them.
Since then, he has continued agreeing to visits on weekdays and weekends without consulting me first. Sometimes, we’ll literally be in the middle of a conversation, and he’ll interrupt me to say, “Can you open the door? So-and-so is downstairs to see the baby.”
Yesterday was the height of it all, and I finally had enough. He came home from work around 9:30 p.m., and I had been taking care of the baby the entire time. He then asked if his friend had called me because they wanted to come see the baby. I finally confronted him because I’m tired of this happening repeatedly.
I’m exhausted, and weekends are my only chance to get things done while he helps with the baby. I don’t mind visitors, but I expect advance notice and to be consulted before anyone is invited over. The frustrating part is that when I speak up, I’m made to feel like the villain while he gets to be the good guy who says yes to everyone.
Am I wrong for wanting basic consideration and boundaries in my own home?

I am in the process of potty training my son and need any tips or tricks! He does pretty well when he doesn’t have a diaper or pull up on but as soon as we put anything on him even training underwear he starts to have accidents 🤦♀️ I have been off all week and have to send him back to daycare on Monday. Clearly the commando method can’t be used at daycare. HELP!

I have been with my child Father for a little bit over three years. We have a 14 month old baby. He complains about the way that I speak to him which I really don’t have a clue what I’m wrong. I’m Caribbean he’s African. I’ve tried to tone down. We still have been going at it for probably two years. He thinks I’m selfish and doesn’t show him love. He complains that I yell, which i don’t think i do, or talk crazy. He wants all these things from me, but isn’t nice to me.
He’s a great father , he provides, but I feel like it’s getting to a point where I can’t do it anymore. Every time we have an argument every time I bring something up of what I don’t like he always turn it back to me.
He says well I’m doing this and I have talked about it and I haven’t changed. I could never bring up something I don’t like without him turning it around to me, and lecturing me.
two days ago he’s said that he’s intentionally being an ass to me so I can see how it feels like when i do it to him and at this point it’s like why are we even in a relationship?

Please please tell me what your doing with your 9 month olds throughout the day. My partner works 12hour shifts and it’s just so draining being in the house with a fussy 9 month olds who I have to try keep a nap routine for.
What are we doing to keep them entertained and us feeling like we have an inch of sanity. Cannot even go to toilet without him crying and it’s so draining. I want positive and supportive advice please :(
