I can’t believe I’m writing this but here’s the story - my boyf said he’s invited his mum over this morning as he wants to see her and she wants to see our son who’s now 10 months.
I said cool , I’m recovering from a cold and said he’ll look after me today the best as he could. Which was nice to hear.
Anyway. I didn’t think much of her visit I just got on with my day , rested a bit more and did the never ending laundry after our trip away. I was in and out the kitchen chatting a bit but very low energy.
She then decided to leave at 3:30 but , my boyfriend keeps saying you don’t have to leave if you don’t want to. She said no it’s fine and the starts to cry!!
I could hear her saying no it’s fine please don’t worry I should go. I didn’t know if I should get involved so I just said bye and left them to talk.
When she’s left I’m not having an explosive argument with my BF because it was my fault , she didn’t feel welcomed and felt like she had to leave. I’m here shouting back at him couldn’t believe what I’m hearing. And just baffled with the whole situation.
I text her saying if there as something she wanted to talk about and here she is essay texting me that she knows when she’s not welcomed.
Myself and my bf are not speaking after such an argument , huge tension in the hosue and it’s all her fault. I have no words and I don’t know what to do.

PS I texted her back asking her if this could all stop as I’m just exhausted and don’t have the mental capacity for it. I told her that we’re now arguing at home (not sure if I should have said that but I did) I told her to stop taking things so personal.
I’m just full of anger for her about how she’s causing such a horrible relationship with me and my bf. This is all because I didn’t give her the attention she desired. Should I say this to her ? lol

My boyfriends parents are like this! 🙄 honestly they said I’m not welcoming and make them feel uncomfortable 😂 because I don’t offer them a cup of tea when they are here…
Bet if you sat there and done nothing she would be judging you for not doing housework can’t win with the older generation 🙄

You and hubby when things calm
Down and you guys not mad at each other . need to talk about this more in a respectful manner. Figure out why he’s mad (because I’m confused on why) and also speak your side and you guys come with a plan to not let this happen again . It’s obvious mil has insecurity’s that has maybe nothing to do with you idk . But base on your story she was trippin . So discuss this with your husband respectfully . You guys can work this out . Me and my husband go through this all the time to the point we both know it’s b.s . He talk to me about it I speak the truth of what it is and we move on . If she does this a lot he should eventually see through it . But don’t keep losing your cool over it . Make her look like the crazy one . And if your hubby choose not to understand. Give it to god and let him handle it . If you don’t believe then still keep your cool and let him chill on the situation. You said what you have to say . Don’t keep pushing your point he heard you .

How old is she?
I find one of my grandmas is very much like this and she sadly now lives a very lonely life at times despite living within walking distance of 3 of her daughters because she feels insecure and feels intruding a lot.
Has caused her many arguments with them too but she doesn't do it maliciously I have seen her cry just telling me how insecure she feels at times around bothering ppl....It is truly heartbreaking for ppl that struggle that much.
But I also can understand how frustrating it is because I have hosted and no matter how welcome I try to make her feel sometimes she ends up feeling like she is bothering and I have felt so mad at it.
I do think it is an issue with your husband at how he blamed it on you because he knew you were recovering etc so you weren't in a position to host and if he knows his mother is someone that feels unwelcomed easily he should've made it clear to her in advance that you are ill and also just not blamed you as that's simply the way his mum is.

This is insane 🥲 Did anyone explain you were feeling unwell before/during the visit . Why couldn’t she have just spoke to her son and grandson ? This is stressful on top of being ill . Do you otherwise have a good relationship with her or is this her character ?
I've just come home from work only to find out my mum has been giving my 13 month old son Maynards wine gums
My son ran up to me so I picked him up and he started crying and pointing so I followed where he was pointing which was my mum's bag, he reached in and grabbed the packet and then started screaming because I told him no. She said I've only been giving him smaller pieces! So!?? Now my son's having a meltdown....
Told her off. She said she won't do it again. Do I trust her? No😅
It's hard parenting our parents.

Hi everyone 👋 What are you giving your 12 month olds for snacks? I don’t know why, but my daughter is starting to chuck food on the floor and has got picky in the last couple of weeks. Things she loved, she doesn’t anymore and I’m struggling for ideas!!

(From UK), please recommend flight snacks. We have a four hour flight to Antalya on Friday with a 18month old.

I feel like whenever he is in the house he disrupts our routine and doesn’t listen to me regarding baby’s schedule 🥲 sometimes he gets it right but most of the time I have anxiety when he’s “trying to help”. When I say “I don’t need help” he thinks I’m just saying it not to bother him but I’ve said it so many times I have headaches. I love him, and when I need him to make baby tired or anything he’s great, but his unwanted “help” is driving me insane.

My baby won’t be 4 months until October 30th. But I have been letting him taste purées and he loves them. Do you think it’s too soon to let him eat more than a spoon full? He has got great head control and sits in high chair without assistance
