Worried about my toddler (twins coming next month)

I’m at that stage of twin pregnancy where I’m getting more and more anxious and I think a lot of my anxiety is around my two year old. He is such a good boy, he sleeps well, doesn’t have huge tantrums and just has such a lovely personality. I’m worried we are just throwing a grenade into his life and how he’s going to react to two new babies entering his world. He hasn’t really wanted to talk about the babies when iv brought it up he doesn’t seem hugely interested so far. Iv read things about trying to spend time still the two of us where possible, tending to him first if everyone’s crying but does anyone who has lived through this have any tips? Babies are due in a month. Thanks so much.

My twins were born when my little boy was 2 years and three weeks. So he was newly 2. We did what you said above and tended to him first, got him a present from the babies, got them a present from him, just got him to help pass nappies, praised him for being gentle. Having twins is definitely a crazy experience for him but he loved them from day one and I think because he was so young he didn't really get jealous etc. it was the norm for him very quickly.

My daughter was 2.5 years old when my twins were born (they're 5 months now). Honestly, she's a very good and resilient kid and she has done well. She's affectionate towards them. For the first month she was a little bit more clingy but she's adapted well. She still goes to nursery twice a week, I go to playgroup with her one morning while my husband looks after the twins. It's not much advice apart from, it sounds like your toddler is in good routines and that should reassure you that he'll probably be able to cope with this better than you think 😊.

My boy was 2.5 when the twins arrived. Lots of hospital in the run up to birth, baby brother in nicu for a month so me and dad were pretty absent at home. He was honestly totally and utterly fine. Was obsessed with his babies from the start, they’re nearly 2 now and the first thing he’s still obsessed with showing them off to all his friends. It’s an adjustment, someone always has to wait but just try and keep things as normal as possible for him and give him as much 1:1 time as you can (not always easy). I made sure that he still went to his gymnastics and swimming etc, the ladies at nursery made an extra fuss of him, grandma made an extra fuss of him and he got so much extra snuggly tv time (win for him). Don’t panic, they adapt. I bought my son a really good present ‘from the babies’ and he knew he was getting it when they came, so he was super excited for them to arrive. Also packed him a little bag of all new books, colouring, puzzles, stickers etc that he could independently do

Why is childcare so expensive !

😅 i feel like i dont see any 16 year old girls anymore trying to make little extra cash or just moms helping other moms out.
Just me who'd be happy to help a mom out just so she can have her 3 hours to go peacefully grocery shopping or have a break. Its tough to be a mommy. And at the same recover after birth and needing that sleep.
Just me who has to choose between a shower, eating, sleeping or having a quick clean? What's your experience like ? 🥰

Best tonies characters for a child who’s not into cartoons much

She likes ms Rachel but she’s only 2 and doesn’t have much interest for many cartoons or for anything Disney si which tonie characters have you found your child has liked if they haven’t watched much? Happy for them to be cartoons or Disney if you feel they are entertaining in itself

14 month old and eating??

Anyone else’s 14 month old overly emotional and refusing food at home? My son goes to daycare while I’m at work, his teachers say he eats great there, often wanting second and thirds. However, when I feed him dinner, he throws it all on the floor for the dog. I’ve tried putting the dog upstairs, me feeding him, and offering a wide variety of different things, and he still refuses. I could understand if he’s still full from eating at school, but he cries like he’s hungry, but doesn’t eat??
Is this normal behavior? Could it be teething?
I just worry because he’s only on a normal food diet and whole milk now(no bm or formula), don’t want him to be hungry😩

Unhappy in new marriage

I got married in July it was perfect could asked for it any better. We’ve been together for 9 years and recently he’s distant on his phone all the time and feel neither of us make an effort. I’ve given up he doesn’t contribute to the jobs around the house and pays for nothing for our I son. He has a major debt problem which he’s working on and mental heath problems recently. So I’m un well worst I’ve ever felt plus think I might be very early pregnant. He not supported me shouted at me in middle of night as I couldn’t breathe so was making noise he screamed at me and said I’m selfish for not sleeping on the sofa. Eventually I went on the sofa couldn’t be in the same room as him. This morning I can’t even stand up I’m so dizzy and unwell but he asked me to get our son ready as he was too busy. Then he just left with our son to take him to my sisters. No goodbye nothing I addressed this and he just said what do I expect he doesn’t want to talk to me as he’s tired and it’s my fault he said I’ve caused this on purpose as I’ve called in sick so I can sleep all day and he has to work.

Usually we get on well with only a few little arguments here and there. We’re moving in with my parents next year so we can save and pay of his debt.

I just have a real strong feeling of resentment to him right now and it’s causing me massive anxiety.

I also have no one to talk to about it

Any mums gotten a non-mol before?

I'm thinking about getting a non-mol against my partner, who is also my son's father as I've just realised over the last few weeks that he's been ab*sing me but I'm also scared of how he will react to me doing that because to everyone else he 'loves' me but all he does is punish me because he says I deserve it, he tells me I'm stupid, talking nonsense, an idiot, and that i can never be successful in life. We're not living together at the moment, but he's already giving me threats and intimidating and bullying me, as he usually does.

For mums who have moved forward with a non-mol, can you please share things you wish you knew when you submitted, or things you faced after they were served the order. Our son is a toddler, but I don't think I can continue doing the drop -offs after he's been served and am just so scared of how he will react. I hate confrontation and just want peace but feel like if I wanted peace then I wouldn't provoke him by taking him to court, which to be honest is a last resort for me.

I want to stop being scared, and I wouldn't be able to cope if he were to take my son away from him because its something he could do just to spite me.

Advice, encouragement welcome. Thank you ladies.
