Are people starting weaning soon? Anyone else super anxious about the whole thing? (especially choking)
Safer to start with purees?

Wait till baby starts showing intrest it works alot better if they actually want the food, with my first i did baby led weaning and no purees this time around i still want to do that but babys just too egar to get food in her mouth so have done a few purees inbetween milk rather then replacing milk
Solid starts is a great app and lets you know the perfect way to prep and cut food for their age, can be used in free version too
Gagging is normal and has noise to it, keep an eye on baby and let them work it out themselves
Choking is silent baby wont make a noise but will struggle so male sure to always keep an eye on baby with food and familiarise yourself with how to safley dislodge food from babys mouth (loads of videos online)

They’re no less likely to choke on puree then whole foods modified correctly 😊

We are starting soon, i did a pediatric first aid course and I felt sooo much better. It's more just understanding that they absolutely will gag a lot but to know the difference between that and choking and knowing what to do in that situation x

Archie has shown interest, lip smacking, trying to steal my food when I’ve got it, his first food was whipped bone marrow, super nutrient and he loved it! He also held a well done cooked piece of steak and sucked on it till it turned white, you have to keep a close eye on this as you don’t want them shoving the whole thing in their mouth! But they will show you when they’re ready even if you hold a spoon of pureed food (start with single food items before mixing anything and if you’re trialing an food which could cause allergies then wait a week between each as allergic reactions can sometimes show after a few days) trial food once a day and build up as they get older! Also gaging and sound is normal, if they are making the gagging face with zero sound, this is when they’re choking! Hope this helps xxxx

The baby academy do a free starting solids course I didn’t with my first and it was interesting :)
I’m 6 weeks PP and at my 6 week check was prescribed rigevidon but I’m exclusively breastfeeding and have just read that you shouldn’t take it while breastfeeding as it reduces your supply
Is this correct? The GP did ask how i was feeding my baby so was aware i was exclusively BF, anyone else taken it while breastfeeding?

I am currently combi feeding but wanting to just go to formula, is it okay for me to completely stop breastfeeding or could I express a couple of time a day and just give him a bottle? I’m unsure on what’s the best way to go about it but I want to try and completely cut out putting him on the breast if possible if I can?

My little girl had her 8 week check up and injections today, she’s spent most of the day asleep but when she is awake she’s just screaming like she’s in pain 😭 it’s absolutely heartbreaking to see, is this normal?!
She’s had calpol and 3 bottles but didn’t drink a lot of them.

My LO is approaching 4 months. I have been considering sleep training, any thoughts or advice? It’s just me and him and I have no support and I really want to get back to sleeping so I don’t spend the whole day tired.

My little girl is 6 months old and needing to move out of her next to me to a cot but she HATES the cot. Any tips or do we just have to wait it out until she gets used to it? She loves sleeping on her side and could hold on to the edge of the next to me but obviously can’t do that in a cot which I think is what’s causing her a lot of upset 🥺
