Rigevidon & Breastfeeding

I’m 6 weeks PP and at my 6 week check was prescribed rigevidon but I’m exclusively breastfeeding and have just read that you shouldn’t take it while breastfeeding as it reduces your supply

Is this correct? The GP did ask how i was feeding my baby so was aware i was exclusively BF, anyone else taken it while breastfeeding?

Pharmacist here! It's not recommended for the first 6 weeks due to the potential for it to reduce milk supply, as you said. However, after 6 weeks, once breastfeeding is established it is usually fine but obviously everyone is different and in some it may reduce milk supply, in others it has no effect. Usually the first choice of pill would be the mini pill but it's something that should be discussed with a healthcare professional x

Yes I took it after my middle boy and was exclusively breastfeeding. I had no issues with supply at all, I was actually an oversupplier

I was on rigevidon before pregnancy, the doctor asked me how I was feeding and I said bottle to which his response was ‘okay you can go back on it then. If you were BF you’d have to have a different one’

I’d maybe contact the surgery tomorrow

Pharmacist here - the first comment was spot on. After 6 weeks it shouldnt have an impact on your supply but everyone is different and the general consensus is that the mini pill is the better first line option for those breastfeeding. I would recommend going to your local pharmacy and having a chat with the pharmacist, they will be best placed to give you advice and can prescribe an alternative for you if you want to change to a different method.

Can’t believe I woke up to this

I woke up maybe a couple minutes after my seven month old woke up. He wasn’t crying so I let him be maybe five minutes later he starts crying so I go to get him out of his crib. As soon as I pick him up, I realized that he is covered almost head to toe in baby poo. Part of it he did himself. The other part of it because it was a blowout. It was all over his face, back, stomach, feet. I never thought I’d have to deal with them playing in their own poo until they were toddlers. 😭

Bed transition

Hey all, looking for some help or advice with sleep transitioning I bought my little boy a double floor bed and we can’t seem to get him in the bed on his own - one of us have to lie with him until he falls asleep and then crawl out but if he wakes up in the night he cries and ones of us has to get back in the bed with him and then around 5am he wakes up and turns his light on and just sits on his bed then I’m finding myself having to get into bed with him to get him to go back to sleep as he is tired. But running on a lack of sleep and time with my partner is starting to take its toll so hoping for some help advice and tips that people have done or is the solution to just co sleep with him👀

Leftover pregnancy/postpartum products

I have a load of leftover products either unopened or only used once, it seems a shame to throw them away any ideas what I can do with them? I don’t have any friends expecting or likely to get pregnant soon and I guess most places wouldn’t take them as donations? Based in London.

Baby registry

Does anyone have any advice on what to put on my registry? Especially considering the rising costs of things recently I don’t want to buy anything that isn’t necessary or that I’m gonna use for a month and then get rid of. So if anyone knows anything I definitely should have on my list or anything that I should definitely avoid it would be incredibly helpful!!
