Am I wrong if I don't let hubby take care of our 1 month old if he's drinking? I'm not talking about one drink I'm talking a few sips of hard liquor and a couple beers. I don't feel bad bc as a former weed smoker he said if I happen to indulge again I would have to have a few bottles made for him so that he can take care of her. I wouldn't even smoke until she went to bed for the night. Tonight he took her from me after she was a bit upset after a bath and he had been drinking and reeked of cigarettes which irritated me. He also wanted to feed her while laying down which i am against because of gas. He always says I act like I'm doing this alone and I know I'm not but he never takes the initiative to do much himself and when he does it's usually after a few drinks. Idk just looking for anyone in a similar situation, not judgements. I've already had a conversation about the cigarette smoke with him but he brushes it off. šš

Oh absolutely not! You are not wrong in the slightest. If he has boundires ( the weed) then you can have them to!!

I stopped at ādrinkingā. Not wrong no, weāre talking about a baby he shouldnāt drink period

Nah if he wants to look after his baby, he can do it sober.

No! My boyfriend and I both stopped smoking and drinking when we found out I was pregnant. Maybe a hot take/controversial but I donāt believe anybody should be drinking or smoking in a house with a baby. Regardless if the baby is asleep or not. Babies deserve completely sober parents. Weāve both agreed to be alcohol and any kind of smoke free until the baby is in kindergarten. Itās the least we can do. We both grew up around alcohol and smoke, and really wish we hadnāt

Absolutely not! My fiancĆ© (whom Iām trying to leave) is a heavy drinker when he isnāt working always threatens to take full custody of our 3 month old daughter. I always tell him how he thinks heās going to take care of her when he always drinks. So no you are not wrong for not letting him take care of your baby. I completely understand what youāre going through.

You are definitely not wrong! I had gone through it with my husband when he was closer drinking and then lying about it. We used to drink all the time since we were bartenders but obviously once I got pregnant I couldnāt drink a nd he kept drinking and would lie about it. And it continued after my daughter was born. I had his mom come get him and took the keys from the car and said he was going to lose his family if he kept it up. I had raised my son by myself for 17 years and I told him I wouldnāt have a problem doing it again if he didnāt stop.
He chose his family after that and went to AA and has been such a better husband and father.
I wouldnāt let him deal with the baby while he was drinking. Itās our jobs to protect our babies. Men think they āknow betterā but they donāt have mother instinct and are dumb af sometimes.
And the smoke, second hand, is harmful for the baby!
You wonāt be able to talk to him while he is drinking, he has to be sober

NO
I have a two month old and his dad who lives 2 hours away wants him overnight like a week or 2 I told him I donāt feel comfortable with being far away from my baby for a week or even longer his dad is calling me selfish and controlling he is also saying that his family havenāt got to spend anytime with the baby either (they have just not as much as they want) am I being unreasonable? Would any one else send their 2 month old 2hrs away for a week or 2 ?

I'm not from the UK but I asked my husband who grew up here and went to school here and everything and he also seems confused.
My kid is at nursery but I'm really confused about all the options after. There seem to be preschools, but some nurseries are also preschools, some people talk about kindergarten from 3+ but I think they are American. Then there's reception and year 1 and maybe some other things I didn't mention.
I read a thread about kids born in the summer months and that they can be held back. I'd like to do this with my kid but from what people said, it's not as straight forward. Several people said that if you hold them back a year, they would just start in y1 instead of reception, which I don't understand. They said there are only downsides because the kid would no longer be with their peers. A mum friend of mine has been talking about sending her kid to school once he turns three and that she can't wait to be done with nursery.
I'm just so confused. When I grew up in a different country, all we had was kindergarten from 3 till 6, then school. There was an option of going to preschool for those old enough for school but not mentally or physically ready yet. That was it. I think it had now changed there as well though.
If anyone could explain all this to me, I'd be super grateful!

I don't know who to share it with, because I don't want to come off as ungrateful for such a healthy, big boy.. but my son is now 2 and a half, and officially 92% in height, and 94% in weight. He was born at 21 inches, and has always been in the high 80-90% range for height, weight, and head size.
It's just.. it's hard. He's 2. He's still waiting to be held all the time, and it was starting to be a struggle to hold him starting around a year old. It's not fair to him. I feel guilty. He didn't understand why I would have to put him down so quickly when he was younger, and I hope it didn't make him feel like I didn't want to or something.
It's a weird situation that none of my friends can relate to.
Does anyone here relate?
Thanks for listening š
(Adding that I have used baby carriers, hip packs, etc. He doesnāt like them.)

But your 3 year old decides to dictate what you draw.
Do you know what each one is? Because he does š

My daughter is 6 weeks tomorrow. we have been dealing with colic for the last 4 weeks because of her formula. thankfully we figured it out about 2 weeks ago. but the witching hour still hits pretty hard in our house. anyway, i have a 2.7yo toddler. my daughter usually cries nonstop from 6:00-9:00pm. my sons bedtime is 8:00pm and we do a nighttime reset at 7:00pm every night. my husband works night shift and leaves at 6:30pm. i babywear my daughter while my son helps me clean up. at 8:00 i put her down in a safe location and do my sons bedtime. i take him to his room, read him a book, sing the ānow i lay me down to sleepā prayer. then sit for a second. then go back downstairs to my daughter. during this time she is of course crying and downstairs alone. i feel like such a sh*t mom. but this is literally the only time my son gets me to himself. so am i really a sh*t mom for this or am i just in my head?

I need to vent a minute my husband and I were arguing Saturday which yes it was mostly my fault I started my period and just was a bad day mood well because of it heās basically told me to piss off until he calms down which theres been so much tension this past week because of it that I feel like Iām going to explode it doesnāt help that the only people I have to talk to adult wise are him and my mom and nobody I can vent to about it (my mom stays out of it and doesnāt want to hear about it unless it gets physical). Also Iām a SAHM and since my car went down me and him share his truck or did anyways I was supposed to get a car with income tax but it now seems like we may not make it until then so with me not working and no car I could be stuckā¦
