Appointment

I had the same come through, mine was related to having a high BMI so needing to be consultant led, but it could be for a number of reasons. Your midwife should have explained in your booking appointment if you are a higher risk and why, so it might be worth giving them a call for more info!

I have a few consultation led appointments from talking to the midwife at appointments. One because I have tokophobia, and they were great and took it seriously and now an additional one because my 12 week blood test shows I have low Papp-A so need extra monitoring. I've not been deemed higher risk, it's just extra support for me and baby. I've just had my 16 week midwife appointment and was confused at all of the appointments and she explained again for me because I was getting a bit confused at which one was for which thing.

As Teri says you should have been told at your initial booking appointment though!

I wasn’t told anything at my booking appointment about any extras which is why I’m so confused. I wish they gave you a reason as I’ve stressed so much over it x
