My 8 month old hates food!

My son will be 8 months in a couple days and he absolutely hates food. Homemade… store bought, he is just not interested. I have to trick him into eating it, I pretend like I’m giving him water from a straw and then put the food in his mouth 😩. He’s starting to catch on now and will close his mouth TIGHT. It takes us three days to finish a jar of baby food!! And sometimes I just throw it away. Am I the only one dealing with this ? Any tips?

My son just turned 7 months and we never get a ton of food in. Maybe a 5-6 bites and we are done. So I’d imagine a jar of baby food would take us a week.

Thankfully breastmilk is the main food source.

Have you tried baby led large solid foods? Like half a cucumber? We don’t do purées unless it’s a dipper to something larger.

Have you tried the baby lead weaning method? Maybe he just doesn’t like the texture of purées? 🤷🏾‍♀️ None of my kids really took to puréed food. I just went straight to solids.

I’ll have to keep trying. Every time I dice up his food super small he just gags 😩

Update

For those who have seen and commented on my last post about my husband and the lack of taking care of our son me and him had a very long talk about it and essentially I told him if he does it start helping or doing better I am taking our son and leaving and apparently that got through to him very clearly and I gave him one last chance I had to go to an appointment that was about an hour and a half to two hours long the place was like right down the road from my house so I walked there and walked back because I like walking but I gave that time to my husband to see if he has the chance of actually stepping up or not and he did extremely well our son was in a clean diaper and was happy and fed and later on that night I went back and watched our baby monitor and he was actually doing what I asked him to do so clearly I got through to him but Idk if I can day I fully trust him yet

Urgent

We’ve gone to the children’s ER and urgent care , no answers. For most of the week my year-old has been having high fevers and really fussy and nonstop crying had on off diarrhea and doesn’t want to eat at all, and barely drinks much. She keeps pointing to her mouth, but can’t communicate what’s wrong to her teeth. Look OK from this photo?

Can your 5 year old ride a bike confidently without stabilisers?

Weaning early

Anyone who weaned their baby at 5 months, did you consult the health visitor first? My baby can’t take anymore milk during feeds without projectile vomiting and so we introduced banana puree and a bit of baby porridge and he’s so much happier and not vomiting so much obvs this is so much better for us as he would normally be wanting more milk but he can’t handle it and ends up projectile vomiting. I know they will try and convince me to wait so don’t really want to consult them but just wondering if anyone has started weaning and not told them? or had any issues with not telling them?

Thankssss
