We started early weaning and she’s nearly five months old due to milk allergy and acid reflux, advised by the health visitor x

Unless there is a medically indicated need, there is only harm in introducing solids this early

Since 6 weeks old my girl has had a feeding aversion. Shes been hospitalised and she’s had numerous GP appts. We made the decision as her parents to introduce a bowl of baby porridge in the morning, it’s worked a treat!!! However, this is all we’re sticking to for a long while yet.

Anybody judging in the comments for early weaning especially for those with reflux / CMPA / feeding aversions can get in the bin. Until you’ve experienced HELL trying to get nutrients into your baby in any way possible every few hours, every day for months… Your comment is irrelevant. Nobody wants to harm their baby. X

Taking a newborn out

What age/ weeks is it okay to take a newborn out of the house?
Christmas is my favorite time of the year and my baby will be born 2 weeks before Christmas. It’s my family in Milton Keynes turn to host Christmas this year and I live in Surrey. I badly want to attend the Christmas party as I haven’t had a proper Christmas in about 5 years.
I don’t want to risk my baby being around that many people. I also would have to take a train there as I don’t drive and I don’t know how fussy the baby will be. I know I don’t have to go but I was just wandering if anyone has any tips or advice cause I would love to have a lovely Christmas with my new born rather than be alone at home with my husband😭

Advice

Does anyone else get jealous of their partner for being able to leave the house and actually have adult conversations with other people, meanwhile your stuck at home don’t recognise yourself, because all you do is cook, clean and take care of the baby?

Trick or treating/halloween

Hi all, my 3 year old has learnt about Halloween and has shown an interest in wanting to go trick or treating this year.
The thing I’m concerned about is her collecting lots of sweets/chocolate that she may not necessarily be able to have and how you explain that they won’t be able to eat everything in one go?
Thankyou!

Does anyone else's mum just turn up at their house without prior warning?

My mum always does - granted she always brings cooked food etc with her but it's annoying sometimes 😒

I'll share why it's annoying:

I work a job that requires me to drive a lot & by the end of the work day, I'm all drived out & don't wana get back behind the wheel again.

She has to take 2 buses to get to mine which means when she gets to mine, I've therefore gotta drive her back home when I wasn't planning on doing anymore driving for the rest of the day.

She says that she does it cuz I don't visit her much but when I do visit her, I can't relax at her house - I've gotta pee in the dark cuz she's watching her light bill, I can't run the tap for too long etc etc

When she comes round, she finds faults etc & it's just not entirely fun when she's around.

Am I a bad daughter for being annoyed by her turning up unannounced? This has happened twice over the past few weeks🙄 I get she wants to spend time with me & her granddaughter but still... 😬I feel guilty sometimes cuz I know one day I might regret feeling like this😕

Weaning early

Anyone who weaned their baby at 5 months, did you consult the health visitor first? My baby can’t take anymore milk during feeds without projectile vomiting and so we introduced banana puree and a bit of baby porridge and he’s so much happier and not vomiting so much obvs this is so much better for us as he would normally be wanting more milk but he can’t handle it and ends up projectile vomiting. I know they will try and convince me to wait so don’t really want to consult them but just wondering if anyone has started weaning and not told them? or had any issues with not telling them?

Thankssss
