What age/ weeks is it okay to take a newborn out of the house?
Christmas is my favorite time of the year and my baby will be born 2 weeks before Christmas. It’s my family in Milton Keynes turn to host Christmas this year and I live in Surrey. I badly want to attend the Christmas party as I haven’t had a proper Christmas in about 5 years.
I don’t want to risk my baby being around that many people. I also would have to take a train there as I don’t drive and I don’t know how fussy the baby will be. I know I don’t have to go but I was just wandering if anyone has any tips or advice cause I would love to have a lovely Christmas with my new born rather than be alone at home with my husband😭

Go! You’ll be around family so I’m sure if the baby gets fussy they will understand, you can just take a few to calm the baby. you can wear the baby and just let everyone know that you won’t be passing her/him around in case of germs, that’s what I’ll be doing cause I’m not missing Christmas!!

I took both my girls out within a week of them being born! It’s whatever you feel most comfortable with. Newborns (from my own experience) tend to be very sleepy so 2 weeks old, baby will most likely sleep most of the day. Don’t put yourself in a situation that will make you anxious or uncomfortable but at the same time don’t isolate yourself! If you feel well enough and up to travelling, then go! In regards to babies health/safety set boundaries, not passing baby around, no kisses etc. People have to respect your wishes. Get a baby carrier so if baby is fussy, they’ll probably settle if close to you. You’ve got this x

I had to go food shopping straight after birth so had to take my daughter with me. She was 2 days old.

I took my baby out the day after coming home from hospital. Would have been the same day but we didn’t get home until after 5pm

Second day I was out of hospital I was asked to go to the gp surgery. Then there is also the fact my oldest has to go to school and do things like swimming lessons and beavers. My daughter was born on the 6th and I took her to my sons nativity play and Christmas shopping. That said I wouldn’t of wanted to take the train 2 weeks after giving birth due to still being in a lot of discomfort. Also the baby may be ten days late. Can’t they come to you?

Go, it doesn’t matter about being around lots of people if you set boundaries and don’t pass baby about too much. And don’t worry about baby being fussy either. Newborns sleep most of the time for the first few weeks and no difference they being fussy at home than out somewhere
Help!! My partner and I can't choose between two nurseries.
We want our son to start nursery in January as working from home is becoming impossible now😅 he will be 16 months by then.
We have visited two and they both have their pros and cons but can't decide especially since nursery A was visited on a Saturday so didn't see staff and children in action.
I know the decision is up to us at the end of the day but if you saw this list below what would you choose?

Due to past problems me and my niece are not on good terms. Last night she was targeting me and only me with everything that i said even when it had nothing to do with the past problem just constant drama and smart ass remarks or insults. If i refuse to have contact with her that is taking my sister (Aunt) and my other nieces and nephew (cousins) away from my son. Last night i got very smart with her and it caught her off guard which gives me the impression shes not expecting me to react and me snapping is slowly building up. So I’m wondering if i should just be straight up and tell her how i feel and get my point across or break my sister and nieces and nephew heart to where they barely see my son or make it clear that I’m not gonna stay quiet and just let it boil over?

Does anyone else get jealous of their partner for being able to leave the house and actually have adult conversations with other people, meanwhile your stuck at home don’t recognise yourself, because all you do is cook, clean and take care of the baby?

Hi all, my 3 year old has learnt about Halloween and has shown an interest in wanting to go trick or treating this year.
The thing I’m concerned about is her collecting lots of sweets/chocolate that she may not necessarily be able to have and how you explain that they won’t be able to eat everything in one go?
Thankyou!
