Anyone who weaned their baby at 5 months, did you consult the health visitor first? My baby can’t take anymore milk during feeds without projectile vomiting and so we introduced banana puree and a bit of baby porridge and he’s so much happier and not vomiting so much obvs this is so much better for us as he would normally be wanting more milk but he can’t handle it and ends up projectile vomiting. I know they will try and convince me to wait so don’t really want to consult them but just wondering if anyone has started weaning and not told them? or had any issues with not telling them?
Thankssss

I can’t speak from my own experience but my sister started weaning both her boys at 4 months. All the healthcare professionals said it’s too early, but they honestly were just so ready for food 😂. I would say watching her do it milk was still the predominant food source and she would give them bits of food at one time in the day (morning) worked best for their digestion. As long as they are still drinking a substantial amount and baby is happy that’s what matters! x

The HV is an optional service and they aren’t trained to give a baby clearance to wean early.
Weaning before 6 months can cause life long gut issues so it’s only recommend if benefits outweigh risks like in reflux where weight gain is an issue or CMPA etc and would be by a paediatrician or a dietician.
True projectile vomiting in a baby should be evaluated asap - does the sick fly across the room?
If your baby is vomiting large amounts after being fed and doesn’t have reflux they likely don’t need all that milk. Food shouldn’t be replacing milk x
Due to past problems me and my niece are not on good terms. Last night she was targeting me and only me with everything that i said even when it had nothing to do with the past problem just constant drama and smart ass remarks or insults. If i refuse to have contact with her that is taking my sister (Aunt) and my other nieces and nephew (cousins) away from my son. Last night i got very smart with her and it caught her off guard which gives me the impression shes not expecting me to react and me snapping is slowly building up. So I’m wondering if i should just be straight up and tell her how i feel and get my point across or break my sister and nieces and nephew heart to where they barely see my son or make it clear that I’m not gonna stay quiet and just let it boil over?

What age/ weeks is it okay to take a newborn out of the house?
Christmas is my favorite time of the year and my baby will be born 2 weeks before Christmas. It’s my family in Milton Keynes turn to host Christmas this year and I live in Surrey. I badly want to attend the Christmas party as I haven’t had a proper Christmas in about 5 years.
I don’t want to risk my baby being around that many people. I also would have to take a train there as I don’t drive and I don’t know how fussy the baby will be. I know I don’t have to go but I was just wandering if anyone has any tips or advice cause I would love to have a lovely Christmas with my new born rather than be alone at home with my husband😭

Does anyone else get jealous of their partner for being able to leave the house and actually have adult conversations with other people, meanwhile your stuck at home don’t recognise yourself, because all you do is cook, clean and take care of the baby?

Hi all, my 3 year old has learnt about Halloween and has shown an interest in wanting to go trick or treating this year.
The thing I’m concerned about is her collecting lots of sweets/chocolate that she may not necessarily be able to have and how you explain that they won’t be able to eat everything in one go?
Thankyou!

My mum always does - granted she always brings cooked food etc with her but it's annoying sometimes 😒
I'll share why it's annoying:
I work a job that requires me to drive a lot & by the end of the work day, I'm all drived out & don't wana get back behind the wheel again.
She has to take 2 buses to get to mine which means when she gets to mine, I've therefore gotta drive her back home when I wasn't planning on doing anymore driving for the rest of the day.
She says that she does it cuz I don't visit her much but when I do visit her, I can't relax at her house - I've gotta pee in the dark cuz she's watching her light bill, I can't run the tap for too long etc etc
When she comes round, she finds faults etc & it's just not entirely fun when she's around.
Am I a bad daughter for being annoyed by her turning up unannounced? This has happened twice over the past few weeks🙄 I get she wants to spend time with me & her granddaughter but still... 😬I feel guilty sometimes cuz I know one day I might regret feeling like this😕
