My 8 week old has no real routine. His dad and I split the night and take a shift each in different rooms and we’re really just muddling through responding to however he is that day/night. I know every baby is different but when roughly should we start a routine and what should it look like?

We started reading my little girl a book at ‘bedtime’ really early on just so it indicates bedtime, she also gets in her sleepsuit and has a feed. In the earlier weeks, her bedtime was just when me and my husband went to bed but as the wake windows got longer, we set a bedtime. The bedtime changed a little, dictated by when my little girl was becoming too tired and it’s now 7pm and she is 4 months. Try and set some sort of bedtime routine, whatever time it is. I think the bedtime happens organically especially as you have some sleep regressions along the way. As for day, as long as you get the naps in, personally I don’t think it matters too much. Humans generally follow the same pattern with meals etc. I’m sure you are doing perfectly and doing what’s best for your family so don’t worry about overthinking it 🥰 x

routine comes in time and you'll probably find it comes naturally when naps are more structured etc. I wouldn't worry about it for now. I don't think we had more of a set 'bedtime' until 5ish months with my son.

At 8 weeks old, I would freak out that my little one just wanted to nurse and sleep and wouldn’t follow wake windows or feed patterns and I though I was doing it all wrong. About 10 - 12 weeks, he started becoming more predictable with when he wanted to feed and nap and we managed to get a routine in place following wake windows and sleep queues. Now at 19 weeks, we have it pretty much nailed in the day and have just come through the other side of the 4 month sleep regression (it was rough). You’ll get there. Don’t stress and follow your babies lead🥰
I am very much a bath girly and am starting to really miss having a nice warm soak.
A midwife in the hospital told me that I should wait 6-8 weeks for a bath. Is this true? Can a bath without soaps/ bubble bath be had before this? I have been showering daily, avoiding getting shampoo and shower gel on my incision.
I am 4 and a half weeks post C section.
Thanks for any advice xx

My mother who is 61 believes babies and toddlers should be PERFECT. She put me down so much with my first that I blamed myself for her not sleeping etc this time around with my second i understand it is biologically normal for babies to wake up during the night! I can take the comments this time however I cannot take her putting my toddler down. She gets extremely offended if my toddler does not say bye to her. My toddler is a pretty well behaved toddler but like all has her moments and if she is pushed she will push back and refuse even more to do something. Every time she refuses to say bye to her she says she will not return to see her again etc I’ve repeatedly explained just say bye to her and not make a drama bcos if you force her she will definitely not say it. I don’t want her to grow up a people pleaser like me and tonight I’d had enough she keeps saying wow just wait til she is a teenager her behaviour will be horrific etc my toddler takes in EVERYTHING she is told and all of this is said in front of her. It got into an argument when I spoke up and the usual came out of what has happened to this generation blah blah. Does anyone else’s parents behave like this? I have found that even older people accept that babies don’t sleep and motherhood is hard

My baby is 5 weeks old and he just won’t settle at night in his crib no matter how much me and my partner try. We feed him at the correct time, comfort him but he just won’t settle down. What do I do?

Hi! I have a 3 year old boy who is mixed white/black. His hair is so curly and I don’t know how to take care of it.
Does anyone know anywhere near Glendale that would be able to help me? Barber, salon, someone to style it?
Thank you!
