Braxton hicks

Has anyone’s braxton hicks got really intense? Mine are happening so frequently. Went out shopping today and my belly was tight the whole way round 😭

Mine have been intense since 33 weeks! My midwife said it can also be a sign of dehydration though so to drink more water than I already was - that seems to have helped a bit.

Yes mine were intense for weeks but it meant when I had a sweep I was already 3cm & labour came on really quickly.

First steps - walking already

Hi mums!
My baby did her first three steps just 2 weeks before she turned 9 months.
She then did several times 1 or 2 steps, but then she lose her balance.
Has any other Jan baby done a few steps?
If so, how long after your baby started walking ? 🥹

Any other premature babies here?

Our little girl decided to make her entrance 7 weeks early and is now 8 weeks old! 💗

I was just wondering if there are any other premature baby mums in here and how you’re all getting on?

Our little girl is strong, healthy, gaining weight beautifully and doing so well. 🥰

But I have to admit, one thing I’m finding quite frustrating is the constant emphasis from health professionals on her corrected age.

I completely understand why corrected age is important, especially when monitoring development, but sometimes it feels as though her first 7 weeks don’t count. Almost as though there’s no possibility she could be developing at a similar pace to a full-term baby of her actual age.

From what we’re seeing, aside from being a little smaller, she’s developing beautifully and seems to be doing everything we’d expect for her age. She’s growing wonderfully, becoming more alert and even took her vaccinations like an absolute little hero! 💪🏼💕

I suppose I just wish there was a little more recognition of how well these tiny fighters can do, rather than everything being measured against how early they arrived.

I’m genuinely interested to hear from other premature baby mums. Have you felt the same way? How have your little ones developed, and how have you found the whole corrected-age conversation?

(Sorry if that sounds a bit ranty! 😂 I’m incredibly grateful for all the care she’s received, just interested to hear other experiences.) 💗

Induction day!

Hi all!

I’m 39+3, baby is due Friday but I was scheduled for an induction today (19th October) at 4pm. Came in, waited for bed and had an exam of my cervix to see what the situation was. She asked if I’d had any contractions and I don’t THINK I have, though that could be my naivety! Anyway, she said she can feel my little one’s head! She reckons I’m already 2cm dilated which is mad!

Currently just waiting to have my waters broken unless they do so alone. Likely to be tomorrow, I think I’m in the first two of three on the list to have my waters broken.

I feel so relieved I don’t need to go ahead with the induction and I’ve done this naturally (FTM), however… what am I to expect now? 😅

Does it hurt having your waters broken? So many questions and yet can’t think of any!
