Does anyone else feel like because you've had a baby people forget you've had major surgery at the same time and you should be over it quickly. I feel like even in the hospital you are just in and out which wouldn't happen with normal surgery. Partner says things like oh I am sure you will be alright! I don't think people really understand.

I’ve had other surgeries too and to be honest I found it all to be the same. I don’t like the saying “it’s major surgery”. It bothers me and I don’t know why. I know that it is. But it was fine. I was fine. It was easier than my other surgeries if I’m being honest.

As someone who’s also had other surgeries, I’m just going to disregard that first comment. As a CSEC mama, you’re expected to heal while simultaneously caring for a newborn, breastfeeding, getting up throughout the night and managing everything that comes with motherhood. All while your body is still healing and you’re still bleeding. It’s a lot to go through, and C-section recovery shouldn’t be underestimated. We deserve grace, rest, and support too

I don't get it either. Had a surgery where they cited about 4-5 cm 3 covers only and I had 2 days in intensive care +5 days in hospital + 1 months rest out of work... It's insane how normalised it is to have a c section and just move on as nothing really happened.

100% I didn’t take my recovery seriously and thankfully I didn’t have any set backs from it but I know how easily that can happen. I had my emergency c late at night and was feeling great the next day. Went all out had all immediate family come visit. Was not staying up on my medication. Felt that the following day. We have a family/work friend that recently had an emergency c and will be about 5 weeks PP and supposed to go do a wedding shoot for work and she worried but everyone else is like “just suck it up” I’m like nah I’m pretty sure she isn’t supposed to be on her feet for 12+ hours till wayyy after 6 weeks. If I ever went through it again I would take it way more seriously than I did this time.

It’s the only major surgery where you are expected to be up and about when thing ours of having it and looking after a whole life! People are just naive and expect you to be okay because of how normalised it’s become but it’s not right you need to try to rest as much as possibly whilst also doing as much as possible
So guys the day ive dreaded for a long time happened today. It was exactly the same as every other morning except this one day my little one somehow managed to move across the whole bed and tumbled off it. The standard pillow fort waa there but somehow he missed it. I truly don't have a clue how but now im petrified of closing my eyes in the morning. Please confirm that this happens all of the time and that I'm not a bad mum.

Does anyone else put baby on front to sleep? I don’t need comments telling me the guidance, I know it but baby is suffering with reflux, much happier on their front, 4 months old and can roll both ways but doesn’t roll in the night, just wakes up screaming.
Has anyone with a baby who rolls ever put them down on their front or been advised to due to similar issues?

I am looking for some advice or to know I’m not alone with anyone in a similar situation.
My baby is almost 1 and has always been a not so great sleeper, the only time he slept through the night was after his 16 weeks jabs.
We’re at a point now where we co-sleep after his 1st wake up in his cot because if he settles and go back in his cot, he will be up at 5am although we haven’t tried this recently whereas in bed he will stir and wake at that time but he’ll go back to sleep until maybe 7:00-7:45.
He also usually wakes up crying and we have to walk around with him to calm down.
He is waking in the night and can be awake anywhere between 45 mins - 1hr, just laid talking away, grabbing me etc, this happens almost every night.
How can I get him to not wake at the crack of dawn in his cot and move away from co-sleeping and get rid of these split nights?
I’m back at work too so when he’s waking early morning, he can go back to sleep but I’m working long days so I’m just exhausted.

Baby loves sleeping on their side / tummy and gets up a lot more when placed on back so I’ve leaned into it and don’t always put them on their back anymore. Just wondering if anyone else does the same

Do you all wake yourself and baby up at the same time every day? I get up depending on how the night has been, so if we've had a crap night, we might not get up until 10, but I feel like I should start getting up the same time every day to start some sort of routine and nap schedule as at the minute we just go with the flow.
