I’m struggling to decide - leaning towards an elective c-section, and these are my reasons:
-Struggle with not being in control, and would feel calmer knowing how and when my baby is going to arrive
-Traumatic experience having an IUD fitted - nurse couldn’t get the ‘normal’ sized one in due to my cervix being ‘tight’, and ended up having unbearable contraction-like pain during the procedure
-I’m small and can’t imagine how I could possibly deliver a baby naturally without complications! I just don’t trust that I can do it unfortunately.
I really want to exclusively breastfeed and am worried about this being harder after an elective c-section due to milk not coming in for a while. But also think if I go for a natural birth I’ll definitely need interventions i.e. epidural/episiotomy… and possibly even emergency c-section.
Anyone have any advice or been in a similar position?

I wanted a v birth but I had to be induced which ended in an emergency c section, honestly if I knew that I would have gone for c section in the first place!! My milk came pretty much straight away, and I latched my baby whilst laying in the recovery room after surgery. The hardest thing about c section for me was not being able to drive and feeling like my independence was lost a little. My recovery however was great. I guess you have to weigh up pros and cons of both options!

I had an assisted vaginal birth. Labour started when my waters broke on their own. I was always worried about the unknown as well but you truly have to trust that your body knows what to do! Also you’re in a hospital where they will be making sure you and the baby are safe and healthy! I think even if you end up getting an episiotomy it will be better recovery wise than getting a c section. Im also a petite girly so i 100% needed that episiotomy! My recovery was pretty straightforward luckily and i had no complications with healing. You should ask about pros and cons of having a c section vs vaginal birth at your next midwife appointment as well. See what they say depending on your medical history and pregnancy journey etc.. good luck! I promise its not as scary as some people make it out to be🥹

I had an elective section and my milk came in normal time x
so i will be 4 months pp this friday and since i gave birth my appetite has been, well, non existent. as well as my ability to even drink anything. before pregnancy i could probably drink 8 water bottles in a day now it seems like i could go all day with just having a one sip of anything and not finishing it. i can’t catch up on sleep, even when i do it’s not enough or im still sleepy. i don’t have any energy to do anything.. not even get up out of bed. any thoughts?

Since my baby had turned 1 (6/7 weeks ago) she’s been so so full of sas!
I can’t do her nappy without meltdowns, get change her clothes/get her dressed, cry’s in the bath try’s to get out which she used to love, screams in the car which she used to love, try’s to get out the pushchair, throws most of her food on the floor, pushes her water away - the list goes on!
Feel like a failure and like I’ve done something wrong 🫠
