Am I being too sensitive?

My boyfriend & I have a 1 month old newborn baby girl. He works full-time day hours (right now 8hr shifts but starting 12s soon). I work part-time afternoon shifts, only 4hrs each for 3 days a week. When baby wakes up for night-time feeds I'm the one who sacrifices sleep to care for her so he can sleep for work. That means all night I'm up with her and all day I'm tending to her as well until he gets home. Even when he is "helping" I still end up doing most of the load. He gets VERY easily frustrated when she fusses & cries. (Which I get it, I'm frustrated too) but he gets so mean when he gets in that mood. Complaining about never getting a break & even complaining about the dog (who is very very attached to me).
Tonight I expressed how it was super unfair of him to constantly get angry and complain about not getting a break when he watches her for at most 4hrs while im gone and IM the one who does the heavy lifting and gets maybe 2hrs a DAY of sleep.
Now he's making me out to be the bad guy because I expressed how him getting angry made me feel. Yelling at me that he will quit his job then and stay at home full time and I can figure out a way to pay for everything. That he moved states to be here with us and I should be grateful for him sacrificing everything he had back home for us.
Am I in the wrong? Am I being too sensitive?
We don't have a lot of help around here. My mom would love to help, but lives an hour away and works full time so she is very limited on what she can do for us.
I dont have any mom friends (or really any friends in general) who I can talk to or just hangout with to get out of the house.

I feel as though I'm tipping over my breaking point. I want to scream, I want to cry. I just need help, and the one person who should be equally as responsible for baby girl, is letting me down and making me feel so insignificant in this time...

You’re not alone. Maybe talk to him about night shifts? Depending when he gets up in the morning have him do the early morning shift so you can get some sleep. If he continues disrespecting you like that set clear boundaries with him. It’s so hard being new parents and not for nothing but it’s way harder on mom hormones are crazy and recovery is tough and he should be in awe of the life your body brought into the world. Not sure where you are in pa but send me a dm if u want:)

I had a similar experience at that time with my husband—im a sahm so a little different. My pp therapist said something that really helped, “was he like this prior or only since having the baby?” Just something to think about because men go through a huge change after baby is born and most even go through ppd/ppa without getting help because they aren’t the birthing person (mom). Now, that doesnt excuse the behaviour but maybe it helps to come at it from a different perspective. I can say personally, I had to be a lot softer in replys and check in first “are you feeling overwhelmed or can we have a conversation” was heard a lot in my house during that period. After about 6 months though, everything started getting better and we both found routines that worked. Its a huge learning curve and you both are very stressed, again doesnt excuse the behaviour but just my experience. If you want to chat you can message me—wishing you the best momma!

What the fuck is going on?..

My daughter is almost 4 months old and every day is getting really hard, she went from being happy and smiling a lot to being grumpy and screaming for no reason. Her feeding is all over the place and she refuses to nap - will only sleep when she’s so tired she just drops off..

Trying to settle her is becoming so difficult no matter what I try, she just seems whingey all the time and I can’t keep her happy for long. All I want to do is help and I don’t know how.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is it just a phase? How long will this last? What can I do to help?

Valid reason to question nursery staff?

Hello, I’m just wondering how other mums would react to this.

I picked our son up from nursery today and was greeted by his key person who told me he had a great day and told me what he had been up to, I then spoke to the nursery manager very briefly, pretty much just small talk. After speaking to those two, probably about 20 minutes in total, I walked to another part of the nursery to get our sons shoes & bag and bumped into another nursery worker who we rarely get updates from and it was only then that I was informed that our son had fallen on his face and that’s why his faced was bruised (I had assumed the bruise was his cheek flushing due to him being out in the cold). I was a bit taken back that I found out so casually and just by chance so I basically just said I’m glad he was okay & that he took it well (she had mentioned he was only down for a short time before he was back up & playing).

My biggest issue with this is that if it wasn’t for me bumping into this other nursery worker, we wouldn’t have known that he had a fall. This is also the fourth time he’s had a mark left from an injury at nursery and I know these things happen, but surely we should be getting updated about what accidents he’s had during the day?

We don’t want to overreact but we do feel like saying something tomorrow at drop off as it’s just not sitting right with us.

Am I a bad Mom if I don't like staying with my children?

I have two children, one who is 3 and a half and one who is 6 months old. We just moved out of state, and before the move, I was working full-time while both kids were in daycare. I wanted to stay home with them and go to school, and I had this picture in my head of doing activities, teaching them things, and enjoying this time with a few hard days mixed in.

That has not been my reality.

My 3-year-old will not stop asking me for things. I go from one need to the next all day long, and I haven’t even had a chance to unpack. I barely have time to make myself food or get enough sleep. My 3-year-old has decided he doesn’t need naps anymore, and then he’ll intentionally wake up my 6-month-old just because he wants to. His behavior has been awful lately, and he doesn’t listen, even when it’s something important, like not running up and down the stairs. He questions everything, and I’ve gotten to the point where I’m yelling more than I want to.

I’m struggling. I’ve looked into daycare at least once a week because I’m so overwhelmed, but I genuinely want to make staying home work. I’m just so unhappy right now, and I feel like I’m failing at something I really wanted.

Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone been through something similar and found a way to make it work?

Montessori school experiences???

The child-centered, community and psychological preschool model is appealing, but the cost is $2400/month. Any feedback?

Has anyone dealt with divorce and custody disagreements while 4 months pp?

My husband has said he wants a divorce and my daughter and I have uprooted our life and are starting all the way over. He was abusive and mostly never physical but he did bruise our daughter. Do things ever get easier? I’m so sad about my marriage and also so overwhelmed starting over by myself. I’m in school. I was a SAHM so I have no income and now am job hunting. I need some words of encouragement and maybe if anyone else can relate🫶

Am I overreacting?

I had the worst day with my 3m old. She literally cried non-stop and was super fussy, she’s had a tummy bug today so that’s probably why. My partner came home we had a tiny bicker but it resolved itself in like 2 minutes. She was then fussy and only wanted me till he did the bed time routine. I asked him if we could watch something even just an episode before we go to bed because I know he has work so doesn’t want to go to bed too late. He responded “no I’m gonna read”. I said “please I had the worst day and my anxiety is through the roof, I keep feeling anxious every time she’s sick” (FTM btw). He said if you’re anxious you can talk to other people or if you’re that stressed call the GP. While I know they are valid options and suggestions, it just felt so dismissive.

I really have struggled with anxiety all my life, especially as a child, rocky childhood etc and I feel like it’s elevated with having a baby (I’m always at home with her during the week alone). I’m going to bring it up to my GP at my next appointment, but I do feel so neglected by the situation with my partner. He is doing what he wants meanwhile I haven’t had a single interaction with a human that speaks back to me all day.

I just left him to put the little one to sleep but inside I feel so hurt and pretty isolated. I’m not sure if I’m just being overly sensitive but it sucks.
