Hi all, just got home after being admitted into hospital for 24 hrs for a very high blood pressure reading at a routine midwife appt. I'm currently 38+4 and have now agreed to be induced between 39 - 39+3 as they don't want me to go any longer due to the BP, it's currently hypertension but obviously a risk of it developing into preeclampsia. All I'm seeing are negative induction stories. Does anyone have any positive ones at a similar stage? And how long did it take? Thanks 🙂

Hi! I was induced at 39 weeks due to babies weight, it can be a long process! We started on the 27th Sep, I left for home the following day just to take a break but ended up back on the 1st Oct to continue induction. My advice is advocate for yourself, talk about your options to make sure you fully understand! Although mine took a a few attempts, I had a wonderful midwife who listened carefully to what I wanted but the labour itself went incredibly and little man arrived safe and sound which is priority!

I had the balloon at 39 weeks, had it fitted on the Wednesday at 2.15pm and it came out itself the next morning. I had some discomfort when they fitted the balloon, but used gas and air and it made it much more manageable. Had cramping for a few hours afterwards, just like bad period cramps. It got me to 3cm dilated though! Then I was admitted to hospital, was recommended to have the epidural because of my high BP so got that at 3am, followed by my waters being broken and pitocin started. The induction was no bother 😊 the actual birth though, I got rushed through to surgery because wee man's heart rate kept dropping and almost ended up with a section. Thankfully he was ready to arrive so with the forceps and 3 pushes he arrived 😊

With my last pregnancy I had similar with hypertension and GD, I was induced at 38 weeks but as I was 2cm they managed to break my waters and 2 hours later I had my baby with no hormone drip or balloon.
One thing to be aware of with high BP is labour can be quicker so you may not need much help. Best of Luck!!
Had a really weird experience this morning! Had sex and about an hour later went for a wee- had gone for a wee before sex too but then 5 mins later a gush of clear water liquid came out of me down my legs, over my hands. Not a trickle but not a puddle. Anyone else had this?
We went to MAU and cervix is closed and it wasn’t discharge so we’ve been sent home and told to monitor and monitor symptoms. Baby’s not engaged and moving lots.
Just feel like we need more answers than that?

This is a UK poll whereby the father’s details are listed first. Where no father is named, those boxes remain empty. Where both parents named identify as female, the non-birthing parent goes first and the birthing parent second. This is according to The Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953.

Is anyone else feeling sick again more?

Hi, it's just been confirmed that I have placenta praevia (the placenta is covering the opening of the cervix) which, if it doesn't resolve on its own, means an elective c-section. Does anyone know how early they might perform a c-section for this? Trying to plan my mat leave!

My 3 month old kicked me in the incision/scar spot so obviously low impact but it hurt like hell and since then I have noticed when I press around the area it hurts. My husband thinks I need to go to the doctor's but is this level of contact/touch pain/tenderness normal at this stage ?

I am 15 weeks now, and I have only met my midwife once for the intake appointment. She was lovely, but I haven’t been able to get in touch with her and my 12 week and 20 week scan have been scheduled in another hospital.
Wondering if this is normal and how others have gone about getting information/advice from their midwives between appointments.
