Hi.
I'm reading a lot about how important to establish the milk supply. I really want to exclusively breastfeeding and I want to make sure I have enough milk, but I read the wearable breast pump can mess up the supply? It's not as simple as more you pump more you able to produce? Or I'm just think its that simple? What is your thoughts/ experience on this?

Hey! So the lactation consultant at my babies nicu says portables are a strong enough suction or type of suction for starting out supply. So double electric and hospital grade pumps the first 8 to 12 weeks postpartum gives your body the right signals to produce enough if not more(if your me) for your baby. While you breastfeed pumping the breast that isnt being used while baby is on the other helps keep the signals going to keep producing. Also middle of the night pump is also so important a session between 12am to 5am when prolactin is highest which helps your body to produce more is crucial for breastfeeding

Im almost 9 weeks postpartum with over supply and I now use my portables for emergencies when im not home or at the hospital to use the double electric or hospital pump

The best way to establish your milk supply is to feed your baby on demand from the breast.
Pumping especially in the first 6 weeks can cause over supply, engorgement and make it difficult for your baby to feed. You also then risk mastitis x

I’ve used my eufy s1 since coming home from the hospital with no issues, I do have a massive oversupply though. I do have a spectra pump also if I feel I’m not completely ‘empty’ but I’ve only used it a handful of times

You can start with the Haaka wearables if you get letdown- this allows you to start catching extra.
I exclusively nursed my first baby and pumped on the side in case of emergencies. Never ended up needing it!
You don’t need to pump excessively as having an oversupply is NOT ideal as it will lead to pain.
Pumping 1-2 ounces and saving it, is plenty over time :)
As a first mum I'm looking at pushchairs and there is so much variety. Can anyone recommend something practical and lightweight thats easy to use please

I’m around 3 months postpartum and feel like breastfeeding has affected me more than I expected. I love the bond with my little boy, but my sex drive has disappeared, and sometimes I feel like I’ve lost a bit of myself. 🥺
I’d love to hear from other mums who’ve experienced this!
💗 Did your sex drive come back while breastfeeding, or only after stopping?
💗 Did you feel more emotional or unlike yourself?
💗 Did anything help, or did things improve naturally over time?
I love breastfeeding and don’t necessarily want to stop, but I’d love to feel more like myself again. ❤️
Any advice or experiences would be really appreciated! 🫶🏼

Health visitor said to reduce so it doesn't ruin appetite for food but just wondering how often others are doing it. Thanks x

Ok so this may sound like a dumb question but what’s everyone doing during colder nights now? So my room is normally around 21-22 degrees, whenever the temp drops below 21 in the house the heating comes on automatically. With a LO now, I’m finding it hard to navigate, and I’m extremely anxious about overheating. So with the heating on, we keep the babies in 0.5 tog sleep sack with vest and sleepsuit. But as the nights get colder I wonder whether I need to put them in a 1.5 or 2.5 tog so they are cosy during the times the heating is off. But it’s never going to be that cold because the heating turns on anyways… I’m so confused and it’s possible I’m over thinking this but hey that’s post partum for you 🤣🤣 I wake up at night scared they’re over heating sometimes and if I go up a tog, my anxiety is going to get worse. But I also don’t want them to be cold. Please help!! Is it normally one or the other, like either have the heating on or put them in thicker sleep sack? Never both?
TIA x

My little one now hates bath time... she breaths really rapid and kicks her legs constantly throughout, she never looks chilled. I took her out early last night because she went red in the face and cried. Nothing has changed, we use one of the bath inserts bevause she hated the sitting up baths when she was new born. Any tips?
