Has anyone had a experience with donating eggs? Should I go for it?

I wanna see the comments on this. I thought about it for the money but idk I feel like if someone used my egg and had a child I’d kinda feel like that’s my kid out there. Am I crazy about that? I honestly could really use the money but I’ve got two kids of my own and I’d feel so guilty knowing there’s another out in the world that came from me but I didn’t carry them in my womb or keep them. Don’t mind me or let me influence your thoughts. It’s just my own struggles with the idea. Otherwise I’d totally do it. My husband won’t ever consider it either

Him donating sperm feels a tad different in my head but he wouldn’t do that either.

I’ve always wanted to! I’ve never gotten round to doing it, and the schedule seems a bit much but i would love to help others if possible! I would love to hear from someone who has x

I haven’t donated eggs but can tell you about the process because I’ve done IVF so it would be the same just you wouldn’t keep the eggs and have the same emotional component. You have to inject quite a few times a day, and potentially have quite a few scans where they count and measure the sizes of the follicles, with my cycle that was actually extended by a week as well. When the eggs are looking good there’s a trigger shot, then you’re booked in for them to be harvested. It sounds like you’re in the US so they might put you under? I was awake but with sedation, they extract the eggs by going up your vagina then to the ovaries. It felt like being stapled from the inside but I didn’t feel any pain. I was bloated and had tummy ache for a few days after. Hot water bottle helped. It wasn’t awful and the hormones didn’t make me crazy or anything but it was hard to sort around work. I believe if you’re donating eggs they also want you to do a few cycles. It’s a really lovely thing to do.
