18mth old hitting/pushing at nursery

The month or two we have noticed our daughter start to hit, pinch and push. It has mainly been with us and family members so been firm and removed her from the situation and tried to be consistent with it.
She doesn’t do very much with us now, it’ll mainly only happen once or twice if she’s very tired. When it first started happening I had asked at her nursery if she was behaving that way with them but they said they had only seen her push or snatch when a child had taken her toy a handful of times.

Today my partner/her dad picked her up from nursery and they told him that up to 10 different occasions today our daughter had hit or pushed another child unprovoked.
I feel awful and like I’m missing something or doing something wrong.
We haven’t spent much time around other kids her age recently so it has come up with us but I’m anxious to take her around my friends children now in case she acts out or hurts them.

Does anyone have any advice or experienced anything similar? I really want to nip this in the bud quickly. She is such a sweet happy girl otherwise

Talk to nursery and get them on the same page so that punishment is consistent. Its obviously working at home.

You arent doing anything wrong. Your child won't be the only one doing this. Its normal. My son has been bitten twice at nursery by either the same or a different child. I know it hurts but I also dont blame the other child at this age.

I think the biggest thing is not to stop seeing friends and other children. Just go and if something happens just do your usual punishments. Like you say consistency is the key. Xx

I work in a nursery and I can assure you that your daughter is not the only one they ALL do it!! It’s a completely normal part of development, it’s studied that children don’t actually know how to play together until ages 4 ! They do get better over time it’s just learning how to interact, how to deal with emotions, how to share! My 4 year olds at work are still the same with pushing and hitting out of frustration xx

No advice other than don’t blame yourself! I’m waiting for that phone call tbh. He hasn’t done it yet at nursery or home but I can imagine it happening and I’m sure they all do it at some point x

How to get baby to nap without feeding?

My baby is almost 11 months old and he’s always fed to sleep even at bedtime. Now I feel like he’s starting to drop bottles, I struggle to get him to nap.

Like today, he had a filling lunch so refused his 3.30pm bottle for his nap, I resorted to having to drive around in the car to get him to sleep. I tried rocking and he just cries and tried to turn.

Any ideas on how I can start to get him to fall asleep with no bottle?

Is this normal?

Im a FTM and my 5 week old daughter is going through a stage of either not sleeping or sleeping too long, This morning she woke up at 4 and didn’t go back to sleep until 9:30, Between that time she had about 12oz of milk and slept for 8 hours, Has anyone else had this with their baby? Should I be worried and wake her up if she sleeps for that long again? Just looking for a bit of advice

3 week old rolled over

I'm a bit baffled because I didn't realise it could happen this soon. Now I'm prange sleeping.

I placed her on her back. When we woke for feeding she was on my belly. 🥴

How did you get your little ones to use the sofa appropriately?

My daughter is 11months and can get up on the sofa but she jumps around on it like she has 9 lives, which obviously doesn’t really mix with a kid who has no sense of danger. She doesn’t get off safely and i can’t trust her to be on it but she’s desperate to do it since shes figured it out. Shes in a climbing phase anything she can be on she is, shes relentless too

My sons 4 and i can’t remember how i did it with him it’s like he just got it randomly, he still climbed alot but always safely

How did you get your young children to be safer on the sofa or just things in general?

DNA Test

My baby’s dad performed a DNA test on him and my baby without my knowledge or consent. My baby wasn’t even a month old at this point. Any advice or thoughts? He’s not on the birth certificate.
