Potty training essentials!

For those who have done or started potty training already, what's your must haves? We plan to start over the next holidays when we have a better chunk of time off and want to be prepared.

We're thinking the steps with support rails as his mobility isn't the best, a travel potty for out and about, training pants... is there anything else you found useful or would recommend? Thanks!

Also - do they find it hard to go between a seat at home and a travel potty when out? Wanted the steps with rails for his mobility for extra support at home but just occurred to us it might also make it harder to learn to use two different things?

We used "oh crap" method. You don't really need much, just potty for home, that your child has a quick access and underwear. When you guys go out travel potty or foldable seat(I found potty easier), and spare clothes to change incase of accidentsšŸ™Œ

We didn't do a toilet chair because I didn't fancy rushing to the bathroom when he needs to go. We did nappy off at home, naked from the waist down. Potty in the living room or wherever you spend your time most (can be the travel potty) and then just offer frequently and watch like a hawk for signs they're about to go.

We have a downstairs loo but it's tiny and didn't want the steps in there. We have a miniature toilet in the upstairs bathroom for him. He's 90% potty trained at home, about to start pants for nursery in the next couple of weeks, but he's just going up into the over 2s room so don't want to do it right now as there's a lot of change going on (also about to give birth to his brother any day!)

Should I say something to the school?

My husband has a childhood friend that has schizophrenia or something and of course he thinks he’s totally normal and doesn’t take meds. My FIL took him in off the street and got him a job trying to help him. Well the other day he asked my husband randomly where our oldest child goes to school. I have no idea why he asked and my husband didn’t ask him. He didn’t tell him of course.

Now the guy has lost his job and it must’ve been something bad because the owner chased him out. I feel like things are escalating with his mental health and Now I’m worried because he’s free all day, I’m afraid he’s going to try something with my child and his school. I’m sure he could find out if he put his mind to it.

I’m thinking about telling the school. What do you all think? Am I overreacting? It was literally just that one question but he had absolutely no reason to ask, and when my husband didn’t tell him he said ā€œI find it more odd that you won’t tell meā€. So he’s got something going on and I’m worried.

Food suggestions for postpartum

Food suggestions for postpartum
Hey everyone! I’m coming on here to see if anyone has any suggestions for easy foods, snacks, and drinks I could have my husband pick up for me to keep in the bedroom while I recover postpartum.
Next week, on October 28th, I’m being induced and will finally get to meet our little boy! My doctor has told me that I’ll need to be on bed rest for a few weeks, only getting out of bed to use the bathroom. I want to make sure I have things available to eat and drink throughout the day, especially when my husband isn’t home and I get hungry.
We have a mini fridge in our bedroom, so I’m looking for easy snacks, drinks, and simple foods that I can keep nearby and eat without having to get out of bed or do much preparation.
If anyone has any recommendations for postpartum-friendly snacks, easy meals, or drinks that would be good to have on hand during recovery, I’d really appreciate it! I want to be as prepared as possible before our little man arrives so I can focus on healing and spending time with him. Thank you!

Relationship breakdown??? What do I do ???

Me and my man have been together for just over a year. I have a one year old- he's not his bio dad but they are very bonded as we met whilst I was pregnant. The relationship has been pretty good, I've dealt with really bad mental health in the last year too like PND, anxiety and suicidal ideation - it's been a short time but we've been through a lot and he's been very supportive.

He's now recently not been in the mood to have sex and not getting hard, he doesn't want to do anything at all and it's been a couple months with no sex - I'm craving physical intimacy and I've encouraged him to see the dr but he doesn't want to talk about it? He said as a suggestion to help me he could give me some space and I could go and sleep with someone else (recently I've been talking about how I want to explore more of my kinks and sexuality) - part of me doesn't think this is a healthy solution because what if he ends up resenting me for exploring. I feel bad for even considering it and I don't know what to do, I'm trying to encourage him and support him but he's not willing to do anything- I'm 24 and he's 21. What rhe heck will this relationship look like in the future. But apart from the sex we communicate well and we have a good relationship but I think this part is starting to effect the other parts of our relationship. I'm bored and frustrated but I don't wanna take away this bond from my son :( My family like my partner as well.

Weaning foods

Hey mums! In my thoughts… What are we feeding our little ones? I’m a first time mum, my little boy is 6.5 months now and I haven’t properly started weaning onto solids yet because I didn’t think he was ready. He wasn’t interested and he has bad reflux so he kept getting lots of discomfort and I decided to stop. Anyway I obviously need to start at some point and gradually try different things, it’s now been a couple of weeks so I want to slowly introduce things to him again this week. I don’t know where to start! I see people just doing veg but for how long do you do that? Or people say they just give whatever they eat even at the start. There seems to be so many options šŸ˜‚

SAHM

Any moms feel forced to stay home after they had more than one child? How did you navigate it and how did you feel about your children getting socialization without daycare?

I’ve never considered staying home, but if we have more children I’m going to have to because daycare would be home than my monthly take home pay.
