Just looking for a some opinions/advice.. our little boy has just turned 18 months and me and my partner are desperate to start trying for baby no.2.. my partner works full time, I work 3 days a week.. we are just worried about money.. both our money gets eaten up each month with mortgage, bills and essential we barley have anything left over.. when we fell pregnant with our first it was the a bit of a surprise and we panicked so much on how we could make it work - we had just bought our house but 2 years later and we did it! He’s the best thing ever and my heart wants to give him a sibling but is that selfish?? We’ve got so much if our firsts baby things so we wouldn’t be starting again and I know more now what we would use and what is a waste of money? So we can keep the cost lower… idk is anyone else in or have been in this position?? Realistically are we ever going to be financially stable enough for more babies??

I’m literally in the same boat as you! 🥹 I found out a few weeks ago that I’m pregnant with baby no2 and my little one is currently 18 months too.
Financially, I actually feel a lot more prepared this time because we still have so many things from our first baby and now we know what we actually need and what was a waste of money the first time around.
Emotionally though I don’t know if I feel completely ready yet 😂 I have such mixed emotions. Part of me is scared about having two little ones and wondering how I’m going to manage but at the same time we really wanted to give our son a sibling close in age, someone he can grow up with, play with and hopefully have as a little bestie for life. 🥹❤️
I think I’m probably going through all the pregnancy hormones at the moment too 😂 but I keep reminding myself that I was scared the first time as well and somehow you just figure it out as you go ❤️
Ahh congratulations!!🥹 definitely!! I feel like you never feel ready! And there’s always something but a sibling bond is the most magical thing 🥰 xx

So I am 18 months into baby number 2. Much like you I didn't have much money to spare. I have a 2y4m gap between my 2 and started trying for number 2 when our first was 18mo. We have made it work and we had a girl then a boy. We had friends that gave us their boy things, we used vinted and market place, and used anything we could from our daughter. I had kept all her clothes and baby toys so kept all the toys and then sorted through the clothes for anything unisex or not too girly. Had a lot more baby stuff than I thought. I havent brought him many clothes or toys at all so far.
Our biggest cost is activities that we do as both kids do swimming and some activities but if needed we would cancel them.
For us the cost of a second has been a lot lower than we thought it would be. We weren't financially stable, but we went for it anyway as I dont think many people are, but we figured we had enough wiggle room. We have very little savings and dont put money away for the kids currently as we dont have the room.

You make it work though. We have. Its a hard decision but I couldn't imagine my daughter not having a sibling and we wouldn't be putting ourselves into debt to have a second.

The only bit of advice I can give from a point of view of having an 18month old and being 7months pregnant right now is leave yourself a good gap so you have less time of doubling nursery fees and so you can use all your current stuff again.
We bought our first items well so they would have a second use but now it’s likely that both babies will need the cot at the same time we’ll need a double buggy and need another newborn car seat.
We had our reasons for going again early but just thought I’d share my experience so far. It might help make baby number 2 feel more financially comfortable xx

I also have a 2025 boy and am due my next boy in about 5 weeks time, so will have around a 19 month gap. We also bought our house before little one turned 1 and I returned to work after a year off but was then made redundant after a few months.
I would say things are tight but as others have said you don't need as much if you have mostly everything from the first time, also I have made a specific list if people want to give us things. And then just try to buy everything you can in the sale etc. you can definitely make it work though and I don't think you will ever feel financially stable enough 🤗

There's 8 years between my too, there's no rush. Yes, we'll never be financially stable. But if you wanted until 3 to try then bub would be staring school and costs cheaper?
I packed everything away and kept it and most of it was reusable 💜 just to offer reassurance and a different perspective x
My husband has a childhood friend that has schizophrenia or something and of course he thinks he’s totally normal and doesn’t take meds. My FIL took him in off the street and got him a job trying to help him. Well the other day he asked my husband randomly where our oldest child goes to school. I have no idea why he asked and my husband didn’t ask him. He didn’t tell him of course.
Now the guy has lost his job and it must’ve been something bad because the owner chased him out. I feel like things are escalating with his mental health and Now I’m worried because he’s free all day, I’m afraid he’s going to try something with my child and his school. I’m sure he could find out if he put his mind to it.
I’m thinking about telling the school. What do you all think? Am I overreacting? It was literally just that one question but he had absolutely no reason to ask, and when my husband didn’t tell him he said “I find it more odd that you won’t tell me”. So he’s got something going on and I’m worried.

Food suggestions for postpartum
Hey everyone! I’m coming on here to see if anyone has any suggestions for easy foods, snacks, and drinks I could have my husband pick up for me to keep in the bedroom while I recover postpartum.
Next week, on October 28th, I’m being induced and will finally get to meet our little boy! My doctor has told me that I’ll need to be on bed rest for a few weeks, only getting out of bed to use the bathroom. I want to make sure I have things available to eat and drink throughout the day, especially when my husband isn’t home and I get hungry.
We have a mini fridge in our bedroom, so I’m looking for easy snacks, drinks, and simple foods that I can keep nearby and eat without having to get out of bed or do much preparation.
If anyone has any recommendations for postpartum-friendly snacks, easy meals, or drinks that would be good to have on hand during recovery, I’d really appreciate it! I want to be as prepared as possible before our little man arrives so I can focus on healing and spending time with him. Thank you!

Me and my man have been together for just over a year. I have a one year old- he's not his bio dad but they are very bonded as we met whilst I was pregnant. The relationship has been pretty good, I've dealt with really bad mental health in the last year too like PND, anxiety and suicidal ideation - it's been a short time but we've been through a lot and he's been very supportive.
He's now recently not been in the mood to have sex and not getting hard, he doesn't want to do anything at all and it's been a couple months with no sex - I'm craving physical intimacy and I've encouraged him to see the dr but he doesn't want to talk about it? He said as a suggestion to help me he could give me some space and I could go and sleep with someone else (recently I've been talking about how I want to explore more of my kinks and sexuality) - part of me doesn't think this is a healthy solution because what if he ends up resenting me for exploring. I feel bad for even considering it and I don't know what to do, I'm trying to encourage him and support him but he's not willing to do anything- I'm 24 and he's 21. What rhe heck will this relationship look like in the future. But apart from the sex we communicate well and we have a good relationship but I think this part is starting to effect the other parts of our relationship. I'm bored and frustrated but I don't wanna take away this bond from my son :( My family like my partner as well.

Hey mums! In my thoughts… What are we feeding our little ones? I’m a first time mum, my little boy is 6.5 months now and I haven’t properly started weaning onto solids yet because I didn’t think he was ready. He wasn’t interested and he has bad reflux so he kept getting lots of discomfort and I decided to stop. Anyway I obviously need to start at some point and gradually try different things, it’s now been a couple of weeks so I want to slowly introduce things to him again this week. I don’t know where to start! I see people just doing veg but for how long do you do that? Or people say they just give whatever they eat even at the start. There seems to be so many options 😂

Any moms feel forced to stay home after they had more than one child? How did you navigate it and how did you feel about your children getting socialization without daycare?
I’ve never considered staying home, but if we have more children I’m going to have to because daycare would be home than my monthly take home pay.
