What date would you use?

I had an early pregnancy scan and according to my Last Menstrual Period (LMP) I am 8 weeks and 2 days but when I had my scan I was 8 weeks and 4 days. This slightly changed my due date by 2 days. Then again sonographer said that the NHS will give me a due date. Im so confused.

For now… which date would u go by? LMP or scan date?

I had the same thing happen to me in 2024 they gave me a edd going off ny lmp but then I got a different date because apparently baby was measuring abit bigger so they went off a measurement which I didnt even know they could do

I would go based on LMP because that influences your hormones which drive gestational development. All measuring methods are a “best guess” anyway and 2 days isn’t much of a difference.

Just go by lmp until your NHS dating scan. That will then be your due date moving forward. But it doesn't really matter because babies don't have a calendar in there and don't know when their "due date" is! Only 4% come on the DD

Due date was invented by a dude in 1800’s counting from your first day of last period based on 28 days cycle, not everyone has 28, the due date is when baby Lungs are fully formed to be able to breath outside, when this is done then Oxistocine will follow…

I got a different date than expected on my early reassurance scan, I still followed lmp.

I got my actual due date today from my NHS scan and again I'm even earlier than expected 😅 will now be using this due date x

Recovery

I’m due for my elective section in a weeks time at 40+3.

This is my first baby and after dreaming of a unmedicated vaginal birth, an induction is needed due to low Papp-a and this week i’ve finally chosen an elective section over induction for a few reasons (mostly mental and to have a good experience).

Firstly, what would you recommend? I completely understand healing/recovery is so much harder with a section but I think I’m willing to risk the physical impact than the mental impact of emergency/induction.

Secondly, recovery tips please! I have an extremely supportive partner who will make sure I do everything by the book to recover✨

The waaaaaaait 🫠

How are you ladies surviving between scans? I’ve had a few private ones but a few days after having one I’m again going crazy in my head wondering if everything is ok and how am I not supposed to know for another ‘x’ amount of weeks!! Had a scan last Thursday and everything was perfect and we were told we are having a baby girl.. but I just wish there was a way to check in with them every day 😅 especially since I’m not feeling anything yet..

Any thoughts welcome from first timers or those that have managed this crazy phase before 🫶🏼

Hip pain when sleeping

I have been sleeping on my sides as per recommendations but every night throughout the night I wake up multiple times because my hips feel like they’re bruised from laying on them. I have a pregnancy pillow and whilst it is comfortable I feel like it’s doing nothing?! Any recs would be great please

32 weeks

Anybody hit 32weeks or third trimester and have 0 energy some days are better then others but I have more low energy days where I just want to stay in bed! Working in ur third trimester isn’t for the weak either and I don’t think that’s helping with my energy I can’t wait to finsh 😭😫

1st Birthday Party?!

For anyone that has a little one with a birthday between Christmas and New Year, are you having a birthday party? Or are you doing something different to celebrate?
I’m really struggling with whether we should do a party for our little one and whether anyone would be able to come, his birthday is on 28/12, so would be looking at either the day before or the weekends either side of Christmas. I’m so torn 😩
