Hello, yesterday at 26 weeks +2 , I felt quite a lot of something coming out from inside me, but it felt more like it was coming up from the top of my vagina rather than out of the vagina itself if that makes sense. I panicked as it felt that way where if you’re on your period and you’ve been sitting down a long time and you stand up and it’s like a big bit of blood comes out, so I wanted to check my pants. They were really wet, so I put a pad on and waited a few hours and then phoned triage for advice. They said it sounds a lot like discharge. If it had been my waters leaking my pad would be heavier, and as opposed to discharge, waters would soak into the pad and discharge just sits on top of the pad. I have also had a pad on today. The pad is a little bit wet on top, but it’s not drenched or anything like that. I don’t know if I’m just stressed now because I thought it could’ve been my waters yesterday, but please tell me other people are also experiencing being wet down there a lot to the point where their pants are wet???

I was told by my midwife to use toilet paper instead of panty liner and see if the tissue/paper is getting wet. If it is, then need to be checked

It probably is just discharge but honestly I would just call back up and insist on being checked anyway. They can do a really quick and easy swab test inside the vagina where they essentially check if any of the fluid is amniotic (which would indicate waters have broken). It probably isn’t but it’s so easy to do I would request it for peace of mind!

I am at 30 weeks and feel like that as well, but when I go to the loo for check it’s just discharge, but seems super wet. I noticed in the pregnancy I have more fluid than before, our vagina is self cleaning so is normal, but in the pregnancy cause the hormones change I think that can be in more quantity. Hope you and your baby are well and you have a great delivery ❤️

I had exactly this a few weeks ago (30 weeks now) and I went into triage for the swab and it was really quick, they can tell you within 5m of the swab. They also tested me for infection (like thrush) while I was there but I had to wait a few days for this result. I thought it was worth it for peace of mind and no risk to the baby.
Thanks everyone, I haven’t had any pants on the last 3/4 hours and I haven’t felt anything. I think I’m just overthinking.☺️
Was feeling very smug as baby’s been sitting beautifully head down from 28 weeks, right in the pelvis… had an appointment this morning at 34 weeks and she’s turned breech! I could already tell as I felt the head high up, and the kicking has felt different. Has this happened to anybody else, and did babe turn back again? I was hoping for a VBAC, but I draw the line at a breech VBAC 😅

Does anyone actually do the perineal massage? I’m 37 weeks and 3 days and to be honest, I’m struggling to get it done. I find it uncomfortable and when it comes to doing it after a bath/ shower, I just want to settle down and relax rather than do that 🥲 I obviously don’t want to have a bad tear either if I manage to have a vaginal birth. What are everyone’s thoughts?

So I had my 16 week midwife appointment today and she told me I needed to have 2 extra scans as I have a moderate placenta risk which was news to me 😩
This is my second pregnancy, first was twins I had scans every 4 weeks with them bur don’t remember them ever saying this with them. No history of preeclampsia in the family, BMI was ok at first appointment . 12 week scan they said everything was all good.
Midwife didn’t seem to know why… the only thing I can think of is my previous c-section with the twins or the fact I’m 33 and am an ex smoker/vaper however before this pregnancy I was only a light vaper… it surprised me a bit.
has anyone else had this?
