I am so sorry your going through this. It is horrendous! I also suffered from severe postnatal depression.
Speaking to others and getting support from the perinatal team and taking medication is literally what saved me.
Please please go to your GP and ask for help.
I know it is scary but I promise people just want to help.
Postnatal depression is an illness non of this is your fault.
Have you got a support network around you? X

Hello, I experienced postpartum OCD, and it lasted for about two years. Honestly, the reason it took so long was my own lack of knowledge about the condition. I waited until my daughter was weaned before seeking treatment, and that took almost a year.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have gone to a doctor as early as six months postpartum and definitely started medication much sooner.

In my experience, medication is the key to recovery.

You can also read books alongside your treatment if you'd like. I can recommend some therapy books that helped me tremendously.

The earlier the better to start therapy xx

intrusive thoughts during a depression are, in my experience, really hard to treat without medication. that said there are some really stable and safe ones which usually work really well like zoloft. reach out for help from your loved ones too, feeling loved and supported can make a huge difference

Heart is breaking

So been in hospital for six days today. Following an uncomplicated childbirth, which I thought would be straightforward discharge home. Every time I expect to be going home Something else crops up.
My four year old son is at home with Dad but I feel so guilty and missing him loads. After being told baby’s jaundice levels haven’t improved and he needs yet another heel prick test my heart is breaking and I can feel my mental health deteriorating. Just can’t stop crying. I have also been started on blood thinners now due to extended stay and can’t leave the ward with baby so stuck in these four walls. Literally going insane!
Don’t really know why I’m writing on here guess it’s just a rant.

Are you still sterilising bottles?

The uk guide lines say to sterilise up until 12 months, which I find a bit excessive. But in America they say up until 3 months?

Bedtime?

What time are you setting your 4–5-month old’s bedtime? My LO likes to be up at 5:30 AM, and with daylight saving time coming up, I’m wondering if I’m putting him to bed too late and if that’s affecting how late he sleeps.. 🤔

5am wake

How do I get my 14 month old to sleep past 5am?

He doesn't sleep well anyways but when it hits 4:45/5am he wakes crying. I manage to get him back to sleep (he's rocked/bounced) but minutes after transferring back into his cot he wakes crying again then he's up for the day from 5:30

He used to sleep till 6/6:30 sometimes even 7!

How do I stop this? I'm tired 😅 he wakes multiple times anyways then he's ready to be up from 5!!

This has been happening before the clocks went back so I don't think it's that.

TIA
