I’m 8w postpartum and have my 8w pp health check this week, I’m assuming they’ll want to discuss contraception.
I’m EBF, my period hasn’t returned yet and I know I might like to have another child within the next 24 months.
It took us 3.5years to conceive our first due to some issues with ovulation so don’t want to leave it too long before trying for the second just in case it takes as long as I’m over 35yo.
I’m not sure what to do with contraception I’m considering to go back on the pill as it’s easier to stop but I’m wondering if starting the pill while EBF will kickstart monthly periods?
I’d also like to hear what everyone would do in this situation and what you are planning on doing?

I didnt go back on any contraception after mine, as i knew i wanted more and chose the method of saying no if it was wrong time to "risk" it or used condoms. That way nothing messes with my hormones and if he didnt want to use a condom then it didnt happen lol x

I started contraception 2 days ago 5weeks + postpartum.
If breast feeding I’d advise progestin-only contraception like the mini pill to avoid extra hormones messing with your milk supply.
Chemists are trained in this also, I went to my chemist and they sat with me and explained the best options and gave me my preferred choice to take home also! Maybe talk to your local chemist too as they can be fab helping you with your own personal plan! 😊

I haven't been back on hormonal contraception since having kids, we use condoms or a diaphragm/disc
As a single mom, I've had to change a lot about how I live and what I do. Sometimes I miss my old routines like traveling, camping, or staying out late, and I wonder if it’s selfish to feel that way now that my life revolves around my child. Has anyone else felt this way, and how do you cope with those feelings?
