First menstrual cycle

I finally had my first period since I gave birth in May. I’m currently on day 11, and it’s still extremely heavy. This is the worst I’ve ever felt. Honestly, I’d rather give birth again than endure this pain.

I’ve been going through something similar- go ahead and message your OB/midwife and let them know what’s happening. They can usually see you quicker when you’re still <1y pp. I had three months of really heavy periods and feeling anemic. My midwife ordered bloodwork and ultrasound. Discovered my ferritin was getting low from the blood loss and I had a fibroid that was causing the heavy bleeding.

One thing to ask about might be TXA (tranexamic acid) to slow down the blood loss if you are bleeding heavy for 11 days.

I am sill working on getting the bleeding under control with birth control, but long story short get started soon because it can take time to help you get better ❤️

My first period came quickly, 1 month after giving birth and it was 14 days long and heavy. I think it is normal. After that my periods went back to my normal of a 4 day duration.

I got mine back just last week and it was awful! It was only 7 days for me but was extremely heavy and painful especially in my C-Section scar
