Is this worth reporting or am I overthinking it?

My daughter has a shared bus stop. There’s another little girl at the stop, and I’d like to talk about what I witnessed this morning and if this is something you’d report.

Today, I witnessed the mom search her daughter’s back pack at the bus stop and confiscated a hairbrush. She told her daughter school is not a fashion show and she’s not allowed to brush her hair. The little girls hair is matted and she told her mom the teacher could fix it and asked her to bring a brush, so the mom went off the wall that she’s going to get the teacher fired and open a lawsuit against the school for inappropriately touching her child without consent. Her daughter asked if she could please just brush her hair so the other girls didn’t say she looked scruffy, and mom told her once again school is about learning and not a fashion show. She then said a he’d make her a hair appointment to cut it all off so they didn’t have to worry about the matting, but the girl was crying she just wanted to brush it out and have long pretty hair. Her mom was very angry and told her again it’s not a fashion show. She got on the bus crying, with no hair brush and it was left untouched.

I’ve seen other small things before, like not letting her take her backpack to school and the little girl crying that she’d get in trouble for not having it and the man (not sure if it’s her dad) telling her it’s her fault, even though they had plenty of time to go back for the backpack.

I mean I know people parent differently, but this just felt cruel. Brushing your hair is about hygiene not fashion. Am i overreacting?

No, I don't think you're overthinking it at all. You should definitely report it. Not taking care of a child's basic hygiene is a form of abuse. And she plans to lie and say her child was touched inappropriately when it actually seems like the teacher is trying to help? That is wrong. Please report it. That baby may not have anyone else who is willing to advocate for her.

Report it. Even if they find nothing from it at least it’s written and documented. If she’s not allowed a hair brush I can’t imagine what else gets taken from her.

This is so sad. She doesn't sound well cared for at all. And at the same time, foster homes can be just as terrible if not worse. I wish ppl had to go through tests before having kids. They are so precious and you never know what goes beyond closed doors...
I would report it and follow through. I just am scared for her and consequences if the services don't help and she is left there as well. As a victim of abuse, it's worrisome.

Report it to child protection and also tell the school as well. It's a good thing for them to be aware of.

You are definitely not over reacting! Please report it!
Poor kid!

Her basic hygiene needs are clearly not being met if her hair is visibly matted, which is a huge safeguarding concern.

Sounds like the teacher is just trying to help the child and the child is willing as all she wants to to feel normal like the other girls.

Please report it to both school and protection services.

It will help the case of the teacher if the parent does raise a concern as you have witnessed the parent refusing to brush her hair entirely and protection services definitely need to be involved as it sounds like she's been neglected in some ways.

You're potentially the only advocate this child has, please report it.

I'd report it for sure

It’s ok to look into it , if it was me I would first try to stay out of it personally. It could cause more harm than good being we don’t know situation. If you see it keep happening and keep happening then report it

If you don't feel comfortable calling CPS, please tell the school at least. They may be building a case already, and that information could be helpful.

Partner cheated on me - next steps?

Has anyone been cheated on and stayed and things got better?

My partner cheated on me last night. She came home really late and seemed a bit flighty, after a lengthy conversation she explained that a few drinks led from one thing to another and it all “just happened”. And if it was a kiss maybe I could get past it, but it was sex and I’m struggling.

I don’t want to make rash decisions and leave her but I’m struggling to process it all. I have 3 kids who rely on me so I don’t get a chance to grieve my relationship, I just have to carry on and I have no friends to tell. She’s gone to her friends house for a few days to give me space and I’ve had a headache and nausea that’s not shifted. I’m just really heartbroken rn and maybe it would be easy to move on if she was horrible but she’s not, she’s amazing with our kids, she’s always done everything for me and I just don’t know where to go from here.

I don’t want to hear that I should leave her, I want to hear from people who have gone through this and things eventually got better

Frustrated

Frustrated and venting. Not looking for the standard “divorce him” comment.

Told my husband sorry for blaming him for something and he said “you’re always wrong” with such smug conviction. Which pissed me off and makes me not want to do a damn thing for him.

I have a lot of other things I could say but for respect to God I won’t 🙄.

Just mad and didn’t want to hold this one in.

My husband just told me he is embarrassed by me

We are on holiday with my 1 year old baby! I was washing few things outside on the bathroom which is outdoor, and he kept calling me because the baby was crying! I shouted and said “omg why instead of you shouting at me you do something to keep your baby calm” he grabbed me through my arm and started shouting “ why are you always shouting! I am constantly embarrassed by you!” He said some many hurtful things that it’s not even worth mentioned! But the thing is, I feel he is a good guy but he actually doesn’t love me! So he feels frustrated! I just don’t know how I will start my life over! Just for context, we do not fight all the time! We do get along pretty well! But when he is frustrated I feel he liberates his hidden hatred! I just don’t know what to do! I know tnrw he will say sorry that he loves me bla bla!

Activities or ways to bond

I’m struggling with energy wise to spend time with my little one thats a 2 year old daughter. She is so hyperactive and won’t sit still. Shes just a really active child and I have no idea how to calm her down other than give her my phone to watch YouTube sometimes.

My schedule with her is singing songs, going downstairs to play with her scooter, playing hide and seek, bringing her to parks and church, dancing and playing with bubbles.

She does not sit still and so I just want some ideas on how to wind her down. She doesn’t like reading books
