Measuring small

Im 32wks and 3 today and my baby is measuring about 4lb 5oz. They said she is a bit on the small and I have an appointment to see an obstetrician on Wednesday. Should I be worried or are they being cautious? Xx

At 31 weeks mine was 3lb 10 in 25th percentile having another scan next week, what does an obstetrician do?

I had a scan last week when I was 34+5 and my little one was measuring 4lb 12oz and said she was on the 15th centile. She’s went up as I’ve been having scans every 2 weeks and she’s been on the 9th centile for a while. Whey said she looked like she was happy being small and they just like to keep us coming in to check in to make sure everything is still going well 💞

Mines currently on 11th centile at 34w. I was told by the radiographer that if on next scan it falls below 10th that we get refered to fetal medicine unit and consider discussing delivery

How do you know your baby is measuring small? I got the fundal height measured (and was just in the normal range of +\- 3cm) but wondered how you know weights? I am a bit worried about baby being small as I’m on the border of what’s normal, but also both my other two babies were on the small size when they came out full term (6lb 11oz) so think I might just make small girls!

Hey I had the same 32weeks 3lb8 they will just repeat the scan every 2 weeks.
Apparently babies can catch up as they have a growth spurt 32-34.
I have a scan next week

At my 32 week scan it was weighing around 4lb 4 and 63rd centile. I don't understand how they say measuring small?

bonfire night?

hi everyone, I really want to take my 2 year old to the fireworks this weekend however we will have a nearly 2 week old baby and don’t know if this would be too little. Obviously we will have some ear defenders and he will probably sleep through, i just don’t want my 2 year old to miss out🥹🥹

Midwife bump percentiles

Hey girls! I’m 34w4d today, had midwife, everything sounding good. But when she was feeling the bump and measuring it, she said I’d need to have a scan tomorrow as I’ve gone from 52nd to 98th percentile in two weeks😬 she could feel baby really low down in my pelvis and told me she thinks she might come early. I’m a little stressed as I know if she’s out before 37 weeks there could be problems and all sorts. Just wondering if anybody else has had this or anything similar? I’ll attach a photo of the bump to show how big it is😁!

Growth scan referral at 28 weeks

I left my 28 week midwife appointment today feeling really down and alone. I’ve been referred for a growth scan as the bump/fundal measurement is below the 5th centile. The midwife said the measurement usually isn’t accurate and the scan should be reassuring, but it will be almost a week before I have it and I’m left wondering if there is something wrong and I’ve been told to look out for various symptoms (preeclampsia etc) in the meantime. I’ve asked to bring my perinatal mental health appt forward (I had PPD after a preterm birth with my first) as my mood has been really down recently and just left feeling really unsupported. I was told to go to A&E if I have suicidal thoughts in the meantime and that was that. Just looking for some reassurance and support really as I feel really lost and sad - has anyone else been referred for a growth scan and it’s been fine?

Normal or not

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and to hear from other parents who may have experienced something similar.

My baby boy is 5 weeks old and I’ve noticed that he sometimes has jittery movements, where his whole body seems to jerk a few times. It doesn’t happen at any particular time or follow a specific pattern.

He also cries, strains and turns red in the face before having a bowel movement.

Has anyone else experienced this with their newborn? Is this kind of jitteriness normal at this age, or is it something I should be concerned about?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you! ❤️
