I left my 28 week midwife appointment today feeling really down and alone. I’ve been referred for a growth scan as the bump/fundal measurement is below the 5th centile. The midwife said the measurement usually isn’t accurate and the scan should be reassuring, but it will be almost a week before I have it and I’m left wondering if there is something wrong and I’ve been told to look out for various symptoms (preeclampsia etc) in the meantime. I’ve asked to bring my perinatal mental health appt forward (I had PPD after a preterm birth with my first) as my mood has been really down recently and just left feeling really unsupported. I was told to go to A&E if I have suicidal thoughts in the meantime and that was that. Just looking for some reassurance and support really as I feel really lost and sad - has anyone else been referred for a growth scan and it’s been fine?

I’m currently under fetal medicine due to baby’s tummy measuring small. I’ve had an absolute world wind of emotions and it’s been awful, and they’ve told me baby is coming early. Don’t feel alone, the team I’m under now for my growth scans are absolutely outstanding and they’ve helped me so much, I have to have scans every two weeks and have my blood flows measured every week in case my placenta stops working. Please think positive, chin up! & just remember having growth scans or different people involved in the care of your baby isn’t always a bad thing, and at least you know you’re both getting the care you need xx

I’ve been referred for a few growth scans now and everything has been fine. My bump is around the 10th centile but baby is currently measuring a few days ahead and in the 52nd centile. You’re welcome to message me xx

Do not worry about it I’ve just had the same with my last appointment, went today to my midwife and everything is fine , you’re literally in there for 10 minutes don’t worry about it!!! You will be absolutely fine 💙🦋

I might end up going for another scan aswell, but I’m the opposite. The baby is measuring on the bigger side. I’m just hoping he’s staying under the measurement till he’s born.
But I’m sure everything will be okay. Just stay positive, and ever in doubt, call the assessment unit.

I measured 2nd centile based on fundal height at our 28w midwife appointment, went for growth scan and he is at 51st centile - they said difference was likely due to him lying sideways which makes the bump look smaller. Fundal height has such a large uncertainty but they need to cast a wide net with follow ups just in case so I wouldn’t worry!

I am referred to growth scan at 28 & 32 weeks my baby wasn't getting enough blood supply a d also I was anemic in the beginning but I just had my 28 week one last week and my baby girl is thriving. I haven't put on much weight as I'm still sick but she is doing great. I was worrying a lot about all this but I keep telling myself it's just additional chance for me to see my baby. I'm also on baby Aspirin for my preeclampsia family history and potential effects as well. Don't worry it'll be ok if not atleast you will know well in time to get help so in a way it's good thing you are getting proper scan. x

I was referred for growth scans back in early pregnancy. Honestly, don’t worry about them. I was so frightened that my baby would be measuring small when I had them, and currently she’s in the 71st centile. It just means that you get to see your beautiful baby a few more times before it’s born ☺️ and usually the growth scans are fairly quick. Please don’t overthink too much- I think a lot of it is just precautionary rather than it meaning that something is wrong.
I’m also under the perinatal mental health team, feel free to message if you want x
Hey lovelies
So my water ruptured almost 24 hours ago but my contractions are not regulating themselves and I’m still at 1 cm since Thursday. They said after 24 h of the water rupture they will proceed with induction so like they will give me a pill to regulate and force the contractions to get stronger and closer tgt.
Has anyone gone through this?

hi everyone, I really want to take my 2 year old to the fireworks this weekend however we will have a nearly 2 week old baby and don’t know if this would be too little. Obviously we will have some ear defenders and he will probably sleep through, i just don’t want my 2 year old to miss out🥹🥹

Hey girls! I’m 34w4d today, had midwife, everything sounding good. But when she was feeling the bump and measuring it, she said I’d need to have a scan tomorrow as I’ve gone from 52nd to 98th percentile in two weeks😬 she could feel baby really low down in my pelvis and told me she thinks she might come early. I’m a little stressed as I know if she’s out before 37 weeks there could be problems and all sorts. Just wondering if anybody else has had this or anything similar? I’ll attach a photo of the bump to show how big it is😁!

Hi everyone! I’ve recently been diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 34 weeks after having four abnormal blood sugar readings, mainly in the mornings.
I’ve had two previous glucose tolerance tests which were normal, so this has come as a bit of a surprise, especially so late in pregnancy!
Has anyone else been diagnosed around 34 weeks? How did you manage it, and did it have any impact on your birth plans or delivery? I’m a first time mum so any advice would be appreciated xx

My best friend and I had babies 3 days apart, both c sections, 6 months ago. My friends belly has gone back to before with no overhang, whereas I still have an overhang.
I try not to compare but it’s making me feel really depressed. Anyone else still have an overhang?
