My fiancé has told me twice now he doesn't think I'm doing a good enough job or enough as a mom and I've disappointed him. Our son is 5 weeks old tomorrow. His main complaint is that I don't seem happy enough when he gets home from work and I act like spending all day raising our son is a chore and he would like time to relax after work instead of me immediately asking him to do something or "bombarding him as soon as he walks in the door". I handle all the night feedings, he's done it twice since he was born to let me sleep, and he's gotten up with him in the morning twice. He was upset with me on Saturday for asking him to get up with him at 8:30 so I could sleep in because he wanted just one day to sleep in. I understand his frustration but I don't think I deserved that. I'm a first time mom, I'm still figuring this all out, and I just had a c-section 5 weeks ago, and I havent slept more than 3 hours straight since he was born because even on the nights he gets up with him I have to pump. I am excited when he gets home from work because I have a person to talk to and someone to share this with. I see why he's frustrated but I don't think he's giving me enough grace or putting himself in my perspective. He says I feel like a stranger to him now, he's disappointed, and he's not sure he wants to marry me anymore. I don't know what to do.

It sounds like your fiance isn’t carrying the weight. It’s hard to put on a happy face when you don’t feel supported. There are division of labor worksheets online you can download and work through together to get a better sense of what each person thinks is fair and reasonable. I’m sorry you are going through this.

First of all, you’re an amazing mama! My husband is home for 12 weeks, does all the diapers and half the night feeds and I’m still so tired-so you’re super mom over here! He shouldn’t be complaining one bit. He gets to leave the house and go talk to other adults and resume back to his life, but you’re experiencing a whole new life, and one that isn’t always enjoyable! Yes, a baby is fun in theory, but they are sooooo much work-let alone while your body is sleep deprived and recovering from major surgery!
I’m not sure how to get him to have his perspective changed, maybe have him do a full day alone with the little guy if you trust him; but if he’s going to be like this, this early on, then I don’t think he’ll understand moving forward how much your life changed moving forward.
All in all, you’re an amazing mom, he should step up, and you shouldn’t be feeling bad about yourself at all from anyone else, you should be praised for this time!

Honestly if my husband ever said something like that it would be the last day he breathed. Tell him to shut the fuck up and give you a year to find your rhythm again and if he still has the issues with you that he currently has, then don’t get married. Also tell him that if he got cut open through 7 layers and sewed up all to immediately take care of a baby with no recovery time at all. My husband at least waited until i was like 6-7m pp before starting these type of issues hahaha

Red flag 🚩 mama. You teal husband would never speak to you like that

You're doing a great job!
You are still in the trenches this is your first baby, your baby is still so so young and you are still recovering! It takes a long time to get used to this new life and recover fully. You are doing just fine.

The way some of these men can act after a woman has been through pregnancy and birth is beyond me! What an actual joke!

Also, a good idea to talk to your OB, if he’s making you feel like this, please watch out for feeling sadness and postpartum depression. Not having a supportive partner can lead to this 🩷

He sounds like an entitled asshole.

I am so sorry this man is treating you this way. My husband was on paternity leave for 3 weeks and we have a very high needs baby. He got his eyes open to just how much time is spent feeding, changing and attempting to soothe a baby. Around the clock. And then add in the loneliness of having no one to talk to all day?? Forget it. It seems like this man of yours needs to take a vacation day to be home with you and see the reality of how hard this is and how easily we fall into isolation and why we can easily be unhappy. He needs a break when he gets home?? Girl, you deserve a break. This is a 24/7 job!!
We are on holiday with my 1 year old baby! I was washing few things outside on the bathroom which is outdoor, and he kept calling me because the baby was crying! I shouted and said “omg why instead of you shouting at me you do something to keep your baby calm” he grabbed me through my arm and started shouting “ why are you always shouting! I am constantly embarrassed by you!” He said some many hurtful things that it’s not even worth mentioned! But the thing is, I feel he is a good guy but he actually doesn’t love me! So he feels frustrated! I just don’t know how I will start my life over! Just for context, we do not fight all the time! We do get along pretty well! But when he is frustrated I feel he liberates his hidden hatred! I just don’t know what to do! I know tnrw he will say sorry that he loves me bla bla!

Has anyone been cheated on and stayed and things got better?
My partner cheated on me last night. She came home really late and seemed a bit flighty, after a lengthy conversation she explained that a few drinks led from one thing to another and it all “just happened”. And if it was a kiss maybe I could get past it, but it was sex and I’m struggling.
I don’t want to make rash decisions and leave her but I’m struggling to process it all. I have 3 kids who rely on me so I don’t get a chance to grieve my relationship, I just have to carry on and I have no friends to tell. She’s gone to her friends house for a few days to give me space and I’ve had a headache and nausea that’s not shifted. I’m just really heartbroken rn and maybe it would be easy to move on if she was horrible but she’s not, she’s amazing with our kids, she’s always done everything for me and I just don’t know where to go from here.
I don’t want to hear that I should leave her, I want to hear from people who have gone through this and things eventually got better

My daughter has a shared bus stop. There’s another little girl at the stop, and I’d like to talk about what I witnessed this morning and if this is something you’d report.
Today, I witnessed the mom search her daughter’s back pack at the bus stop and confiscated a hairbrush. She told her daughter school is not a fashion show and she’s not allowed to brush her hair. The little girls hair is matted and she told her mom the teacher could fix it and asked her to bring a brush, so the mom went off the wall that she’s going to get the teacher fired and open a lawsuit against the school for inappropriately touching her child without consent. Her daughter asked if she could please just brush her hair so the other girls didn’t say she looked scruffy, and mom told her once again school is about learning and not a fashion show. She then said a he’d make her a hair appointment to cut it all off so they didn’t have to worry about the matting, but the girl was crying she just wanted to brush it out and have long pretty hair. Her mom was very angry and told her again it’s not a fashion show. She got on the bus crying, with no hair brush and it was left untouched.
I’ve seen other small things before, like not letting her take her backpack to school and the little girl crying that she’d get in trouble for not having it and the man (not sure if it’s her dad) telling her it’s her fault, even though they had plenty of time to go back for the backpack.
I mean I know people parent differently, but this just felt cruel. Brushing your hair is about hygiene not fashion. Am i overreacting?

Frustrated and venting. Not looking for the standard “divorce him” comment.
Told my husband sorry for blaming him for something and he said “you’re always wrong” with such smug conviction. Which pissed me off and makes me not want to do a damn thing for him.
I have a lot of other things I could say but for respect to God I won’t 🙄.
Just mad and didn’t want to hold this one in.

I love my husband but I don’t like him. My husband is an amazing dad and he treats me very well but I just don’t feel as attracted to him anymore. We’ve had a lot go on the past couple months but I can’t shake this thought from my head. He has done some things that have made me see him different but I don’t say anything because it always makes it worse and then I look like the monster for not feeling the same way about the situation. For example, we have always had this thing where we have spent everyday together since we got together but a few months ago my mental health was doing really bad and I needed a little space to clear it and I went to my mom’s for 2 days and he wouldn’t stop blowing up my phone and he made me feel like a monster for not being able to go home after one night. He still brings it up now even after I explained I was doing bad mentally and he thinks he can fix anything as long as I’m with him. To say it in a simpler way, he is very clingy. I don’t like using that word because I don’t think it’s a bad thing but god he is so suffocating. I have put off posting this for a while because I thought it might have just been one of my random mood things I get but it started making me feel really depressed. The thing is I don’t think I could ever leave him. We have our 8 month daughter and he is amazing with her and he treats me amazingly and my family always tells me that I couldn’t have found a better man. I love him but I don’t think it’s in the same way I use to. I really didn’t want to make this post bc then it makes it real but I’ve been extremely depressed and I was wondering if anyone else ever went through something like this or have any advice.
