Baby is measuring 3lbs 4oz which is >99th percentile. They scheduled repeat growth scan in 4 weeks. Anyone else experiencing this?
This is my 3rd baby and I’m taking my glucose test tomorrow. I passed the initial glucose test at 14 weeks. Never had GD with my other pregnancies. First baby they thought was going to be big had to do a bunch of extra scans and he came out 7lbs 3oz. Second baby was 8lbs 12oz but didn’t flag anything during routine scans.

Is this just for monitoring or do they want to induce if always measuring big? I have my 28 week scan next week due to baby being in 99th percentile. My first baby measured really big at 20 weeks but normal at 36 weeks and came out 8lbs at 39 weeks. I didn’t have GD in first pregnancy but testing soon for this one.

first time with GD. Both previous kids were 5lbs 5oz and 5lbs 12oz. Since 20 weeks he’s been in the 98th percentile. We do another growth scan next week at 31 weeks

How did you get weight at 28 weeks? I haven’t gotten any other scans except for the anatomy scan and I think the next one I have is at 36 weeks!

I would take weights with a grain of rice. I haven’t met one person yet that had their baby end up around that same weight that the drs were so “worried “ about. I was over 10 lbs. my friend had a 12 lbs baby. My 5’3 sister had 8 lb babies. Your body is made for this. Honestly, I don’t get glucose tests done (this is my 5th) and never have had my midwife tell me a weight off my baby. You end up getting too much into your head about things. You can do this. Your body was made for this. 💗

In basically the same situation, except my baby was measuring even bigger two weeks ago at my 28-week ultrasound 😳 I ended up not having GD, so I’m doing the follow-up growth ultrasounds and listening to my doctor but also managing my feelings with 1) Growth scans seem to be famously inaccurate. My baby might be big, but there’s a very real chance he’s completely average-sized. The ultrasound tech measured his abdomen twice and there was a 3 oz difference between the two measurements and she just went with the bigger one. 2) We might have caught him during a growth spurt and find that his measurements have evened out at 32 weeks. 3) My incredibly tall husband was a 10-pound+ baby, so genetics might mean our baby is large regardless 🤷♀️ Listen to your doctor if they have concerns, but try not to get too hung up on specific numbers.
I left my 28 week midwife appointment today feeling really down and alone. I’ve been referred for a growth scan as the bump/fundal measurement is below the 5th centile. The midwife said the measurement usually isn’t accurate and the scan should be reassuring, but it will be almost a week before I have it and I’m left wondering if there is something wrong and I’ve been told to look out for various symptoms (preeclampsia etc) in the meantime. I’ve asked to bring my perinatal mental health appt forward (I had PPD after a preterm birth with my first) as my mood has been really down recently and just left feeling really unsupported. I was told to go to A&E if I have suicidal thoughts in the meantime and that was that. Just looking for some reassurance and support really as I feel really lost and sad - has anyone else been referred for a growth scan and it’s been fine?

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and to hear from other parents who may have experienced something similar.
My baby boy is 5 weeks old and I’ve noticed that he sometimes has jittery movements, where his whole body seems to jerk a few times. It doesn’t happen at any particular time or follow a specific pattern.
He also cries, strains and turns red in the face before having a bowel movement.
Has anyone else experienced this with their newborn? Is this kind of jitteriness normal at this age, or is it something I should be concerned about?
I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you! ❤️
