I am 19 and I just had my babygirl and she was my first ever pregnancy and I had to have a c section and I was terrified but everything went smoothly now you do feel pressure even with the epidural and yes that is normal and yes it hurts lol but I had a really good anesthesiologist who talked to me and told me what was happening and my husband was very supportive but he was absolutely terrified as well

I had my first two children vaginally but both ended in forceps. So we had a section with my third last week. The process was much calmer. I would say if your not first on the list for the day (which you probably won’t find out until your there) it can be a bit of a long wait so take distractions! We were second and even tho we were there from 7.40 baby wasn’t born until 11.37. It’s a lot of people walking in and out talking to you in the morning. Tell them your worries! I told the anethetist my bad previous experiences with cannulas and he was great in theatre distracting me with my favourite music and getting me to look at other things so that was actually easy. The spinal is not as bad as an epidural tho was the worst part of the experience and honestly it’s not even that bad. The whole thing was really quick and we did get some skin to skin. Not as much as I would have liked and not as much as we had with previous babies but we made up for it back on the ward. You got this xx

I had my son by C-section just over 3 weeks ago. It was planned to be two weeks ago but he came early. Even without it being fully planned it was so beautiful and painless. I didn't even feel nausea because the second I started feeling a tiny bit queasy I mentioned it to the anesthesiologist and they dosed me just right. The only pain I felt was when they put in the initial numbing agent and it's not even a bee sting worth of pain then when they put in the spinal nothing the whole procedure just like somebody tapping your thighs. The 2 hours of contractions I had before they took me into the operating room sucked way more than the C-section and the C-section only took 40 minutes and then I got to hold my baby boy

I would say the recovery has been tough and I wasn’t prepared for it to me as tough after my very fast recoveries with my other two. So just have everything you need in baskets near your bed, the sofa etc. and get people in place for as long as you can to help out with the day to day stuff xx

I've had 2 c sections! My first was an emergency C-section and I was put to sleep. My second was planned and I was terrified to start with. But once you're in the room and you get your epidural you do feel pressure but no pain and it was a very amazing experience. I would recommend bringing a robe with you. If you're ready to have your baby ask your doctor. My doctor let me have him the same day I was ready. Recovery does take a little bit of time. Stay in the hospital as long as they let you and take hope when you can.

My baby was breech so I had a c section too at 37 weeks. It was my first baby. You can ask about things like delayed cord clamping, having your playlist in the OR, hospital policy on doulas or midwives for postpartum. For recovery I would recommend investing in some reusable ice packs to supplement pain control

Growth scan referral at 28 weeks

I left my 28 week midwife appointment today feeling really down and alone. I’ve been referred for a growth scan as the bump/fundal measurement is below the 5th centile. The midwife said the measurement usually isn’t accurate and the scan should be reassuring, but it will be almost a week before I have it and I’m left wondering if there is something wrong and I’ve been told to look out for various symptoms (preeclampsia etc) in the meantime. I’ve asked to bring my perinatal mental health appt forward (I had PPD after a preterm birth with my first) as my mood has been really down recently and just left feeling really unsupported. I was told to go to A&E if I have suicidal thoughts in the meantime and that was that. Just looking for some reassurance and support really as I feel really lost and sad - has anyone else been referred for a growth scan and it’s been fine?

Normal or not

Hi everyone, I’m looking for some advice and to hear from other parents who may have experienced something similar.

My baby boy is 5 weeks old and I’ve noticed that he sometimes has jittery movements, where his whole body seems to jerk a few times. It doesn’t happen at any particular time or follow a specific pattern.

He also cries, strains and turns red in the face before having a bowel movement.

Has anyone else experienced this with their newborn? Is this kind of jitteriness normal at this age, or is it something I should be concerned about?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your experiences. Thank you! ❤️

Baby measuring big - 28 weeks 😭

Baby is measuring 3lbs 4oz which is >99th percentile. They scheduled repeat growth scan in 4 weeks. Anyone else experiencing this?

This is my 3rd baby and I’m taking my glucose test tomorrow. I passed the initial glucose test at 14 weeks. Never had GD with my other pregnancies. First baby they thought was going to be big had to do a bunch of extra scans and he came out 7lbs 3oz. Second baby was 8lbs 12oz but didn’t flag anything during routine scans.
