I am a mum of 2, I have a 4 year old daughter and an 11 month old son. We had planned a family party at our house with all our families but having had a kitchen renovation recently which has gone way over schedule it looks a bit of a mess. We also have a lot going on and decided to cancel the birthday party. Instead we are taking him to a farm just us and having a quiet celebration with just my husband and my daughter. Someone told me that i was being silly and I shouldn’t care about the kitchen etc which made me feel really guilty.
Is anyone else not worrying with a birthday party? I didn’t realise it was too much of a think for 1st bday parties!

I’m a mum of 1 and not having a party! Just dinner with family! It’s also my father’s 65th birthday the day after my daughter’s 1st but I still opted for a dinner rather than even a joint party!
Do what makes you feel comfortable, it’s about you spending the day with your little one rather than other people XX

we are having a “party” as of such for my little boy but havent paid to hire anything and just meeting at local club but its more just so that everyone sees him else we would be scheduling visitors for a week 🤣 on the actual day of his birthday we are going to a wildlife park just me him his dad his auntie and his cousin x

We’re having a party but purely because of the fact that our friends little girl was born the same day as ours so we can split the cost and have a joint party. Otherwise we wouldn’t have done one at all! X

It’s my little one’s birthday today, no party here, just seeing family and celebrating at home but we are also going on holiday at the weekend so a party just wasn’t on the cards this year! X

Mum of one and no party here!
Me and my husband are taking our boy of to an animal park and for breakfast.
We are still in the trenches and we want a day we'll enjoy too and a party, especially in our house is just STRESS!
Hi, just wondering if anyone else is suffering with insomnia. I’m one year PP, my son hasn’t yet slept through the night so we’re still waking quite a bit. I can fall asleep but once I’ve been awake too many times that’s it I’m awake then. I was awake from 1:30-7am last night and I’ve had just under 3 hours tonight. I just cannot get back to sleep and I think I might go crazy. I’ve tried staying off my phone, putting something on to help me sleep but nope. I just lie there wide awake. I don’t drink much caffeine through the day now either. Any tips or tricks? Or do I just need to accept my fate.

So at my 20 week scan, baby was measuring on the 8th percentile but the ultrasound tech said baby looks healthy (organs and other measurements etc.) and the uterine Doppler and blood flow to baby are fine and within range. However, because baby is under the 10th percentile they want me to have additional scans at 28, 32, 36 and 40 weeks.
I know these scans are just to see if everything is ok but I went down this route with my first baby (for the opposite - being too big) and they picked up on the smallest of details to worry about and I felt forced into giving birth early, thinking about induction and c section (which ultimately did end up in cs).
I would love a VBAC/HBAC this time, and know I have the right to decline these scans etc. but I’m conflicted as I want to make sure baby is healthy but I also don’t want to feel like they’re deciding how birth is going to go for me.
Has anyone had a small for gestational age baby and everything been fine? Anyone declined growth scans and all be ok? Just after some advice on what I should do as my head is spinning at the moment with all the possibilities…

Had my first sweep done yesterday at 38 weeks and had the tiniest amount of light blood that disappeared and the odd period like cramps. They got worse overnight but still like intense period like cramps that I did struggle with when moving around in bed or getting up to go to the bathroom but have disappeared now it’s morning. It was probably about 17/18 hours ago I had my sweep and the midwife said I was 1cm dilated, my cervix was about a 2/3 and my bishops score was about a 3/4 out of 10. Is this normal? My first was a planned section due to complications but this time round there have been none.

My baby is a week old!
I’m breastfeeding and I just find it so lonely but I love her so much and love spending time with her. I feel like I can only feed and that’s all I do all day. I’m exhausted because nighttime is rough. My partner helps the best he can. The baby blues are hitting and I could cry at anything, missing her even though I’m holding her, not wanting her to grow up, and then anxiety about not having a job. Anyway, I just needed to vent and we all got this!
