Birth plan advice?

I would think of it more as birth preferences than a plan. Births rarely go as planned, so it’s good to go into it with flexibility.

Not to breed fear, but having this mindset helped me feel better when the birth I envisioned didn’t come to fruition.

My only advice would be to see it as “birth preferences” rather than “birth plan” 😅 and to have enough printed copies in case of shift changes etc

Do not put so much pressure on everything on your birth plan going the way you wanted to it doesn’t always go the way you wanted to personally my birth plan was both me and my son to make it through labor and I wanted to do the golden hour

I wouldn’t put too much pressure on sticking to the birth plan because it doesn’t always go to plan. I wanted unmedicated natural birth with music etc. when it came to it, I ended up being induced, she was a stubborn girl, ended up having epidural, gas and air.

I was induced and went all natural with no meds, it was intense. But my plan was to be all natural. So I guess my advice is if you are going with an all natural route, just think that other options don’t exist unless an emergency arises. I told my husband that if it’s just the pain I’m dealing with it was his job to talk me out of giving up. If it came to our daughter’s safety then immediately do meds or c section or whatever had to be done. So I guess my advice is to be flexible but firm with yourself.
