Behaviour when weaning

I’ve started weaning my boy who is just over 6 months.

He really loves to hold his spoon but then puts in his mouth and chews and starts moaning and groaning (seems like teething)

He also gets very upset and gives frustrated like behaviour around food and the spoon situation if he doesn’t have it doesn’t seem interested to then have food. I can’t let him take the spoon as he gags on it when he puts in his mouth. Ive tried giving another spoon but he does the same thing and its a distraction.

Is this teething, hunger for more? Tired? he doesn’t really show enjoyment around foods at dinner time apart from breakfast.

how much actual spoon fulls is our 6 month old having?

What time do you feed for dinner time & breakfast?

Sounds the same as what’s happening with my LO and he’s teething badly! I think it’s normal for them to go through phases of disinterest in food too, I don’t force I just offer and if he’s really not having it I stop. Sometimes I find offering some water and then carrying on helps.

Breakfast we do baby porridge or natural yoghurt mixed with fruit puree. I’ve done raspberry pancakes, peanut butter on toast or just fruit in general for BLW. And for dinner he has whatever we have in baby safe form. The solid starts app is really helpful with ways to serve foods for their age😊

Never fed a baby using a spoon only ever done BLW but you can get spoons with a guard so that they can’t shove it too far in but gagging is how they mouth map. They need to learn how far back their gag reflex is which is hard to do when being spoon feed puree/ liquids.

Neither of my kids would be spoon fed but were much more interested BLW so I’d say try that. That way baby is in full control of what enters their mouth and they learn quite quickly how far back they can put things x

So my mom was helping me with my son and now she’s leaving tomorrow morning. Do I take my son to daycare right away or just ease into it? Should I take him tomorrow or the day after!

He’s 11 months old btw

Break-up at 21 weeks - heartbroken with no support

Hey, my bf has decided that HE is overwhelmed and after an escalated argument (over something minor) it would be a good idea to pack a few things and dissappear. Days later after being ignored, I finally get a response that he is breaking up with me and moving, but expecting me to keep his stuff and wait until he finds a place.

I am devastated beyond words because for the first time things between us were getting better and arguments less serious - I felt so blindsided. The day before we are talking about marriage and buying books (me) about how to handle conflict better to this.

I love him a lot but it seems I will be raising my boy alone. Any single moms or single pregnant mommies out there? I could really use some advise on this. I feel so overwhelmed and heartbroken .

Help! 😢

I have a toddler who’s been on and off sick for 2 weeks and a newborn at home. I have to keep them separated so the newborn doesn’t get sick. I’m going insane. Partner is doing the best but they both need me. I don’t know what to do! Any advice please!

Giving water with food

My little one is starting to love having bits of food now but no interest in water, I’ve tried to help him so he knows what to do but he just doesn’t want it. How are you guys teaching them to drink from a non valve cup?
